They can be mounted on workbenches, saw tables, drafting tables, and more. Left to right or right to left print orientation. S1 English Graduations
Graduated in 1/16″ on both edges. Numbered in consecutive inches to 1′ and repeat on one edge and consecutive inches on the other edge.
S12 English/ Metric Graduations
Lower edge graduated in millimeters and numbered in consecutive millimeters to each decimeter and repeat. Top edge graduated in 16ths of an inch and numbered in consecutive inches and numbered at each foot.

I got this to replace the inaccurate measuring strip on a new (to me – I bought it used) rip fence/rails for my older table saw. The strip laid down by the rail manufacturer was progressively inaccurate so by 12″ it was over 1/8″ longer than the actual measure.Before mounting this, because of prior review comments I laid it out alongside a known-accurate tape measure to check. I found it to be exact. Then I fastened it to the rail with the adhesive backing, and took two other tape measures and compared again (see images). You can see from them that at 30″, this Starrett tape exactly equals both of the tape measures.I found I could pull the tape back up immediately after setting it down, to reposition more accurately (I let it wander off an absolutely straight line). It stuck back down just fine. Generally adhesives like this take a bit of time to best adhere, so there is a tiny bit of work time – but you don’t want to do it more than once or twice.I cut the tape using tin snips – it seemed a bit thick to use a pair of household scissors.It provides 1/32″ divisions to 12″, then 1/16″ the rest of the tape. The tape makes it easy to see smaller divisions with longer lines at 1″, ½”, ¼”, and ?” divides.The metric scale is divided by millimeters throughout the tape.A great value that will allow me to measure rip widths accurately without having to use a separate tape measure, which will make me more efficient as I work.

I recently bought an older Craftsman table saw that someone had positioned the measuring tape incorrectly. I bought the Starrett tape to remedy the problem.

Installed this tape to a bench on my dock to facilitate measuring caught fish last August. Worked great all fall fishing season. However, first catch of the 2023 season caused me to discover the measuring tape was gone! Missing!Bought a new tape but it is much narrower than the first and not very user friendly. Will return.Tried a couple times to contact Starrett via their online form but it kept saying I exceeded the 250 character limit so, I gave up. Did not indicate how many characters were actually used and not keen on counting them myself.Maybe tape adhesive is not compatible with cold weather. I was just curious about product warranty.
