Foam interface pad for sanding delicate surfaces such as profiles and contours with your RTS400 or RS400 sander. The secret to a great finish lies in the use of the right pad and abrasive for the application at hand. With the Festool System, you’ll find a solution for virtually any application, and you’ll produce better results with pads, abrasives, sanders and dust extractors designed to work seamlessly and efficiently together. Festool sanding pads are designed as carefully as every other component for optimum performance and a long life. All of our pads are designed with dust extraction as a primary consideration, so you’ll work cleaner, produce a better finish and significantly extend the life of your abrasives and pads. Festool pads feature the StickFix hook and loop design for quick and efficient abrasive changes, and enable re-use of partially used abrasives. A highly-resilient, heat-resistant MPE foam is utilized in all our pads for consistent finishing results, uniform wearing, and extended pad life. Because sanding pads will eventually fatigue and require replacement, it is advisable to keep a fresh pad at hand to avoid a break in work. Includes 1 sanding pad. Made in Germany.

there are different quality pads. these are soft so the edges round over when you sand. I had to find the ‘hard’ pads to be satisfied, my mistake or your mistake for not clearly indicating what was in the package.

This interface pad is a thin sponge pad, not the replacement pad that screws on that is shown in the picture.

Just received the festool rts 400 so I haven’t used it yet. The reason for my purchase was to protect the baseplate on the sander when in use. Better to wear this replaceable pad out than the more expensive baseplate. Since festool brand is so inexpensive!

The original sanding pad that came with my Festool sander was permanently affixed to a plastic backing that snaps onto the sander. This pad lacks that plastic backing, so there is no way to affix it to the sander.I saved the original pad and have removed and cleaned the glue off it. I will have to find a suitable adhesive to glue this new pad onto the old plastic backing. Otherwise, there is no way to mount this pad to the sander.

This is a spongy pad that would go on top of the pad that is screwed to the sander. Not what I was expecting to receive. Should be a better description and pictures of the product.

Works just like a foam pad should but it’s from Festool so it’s priced like a gold plated foam pad, but it still works!
