This is a great little machine, but there is a learning curve. My experience is it is not as easy as it looks on the videos, mine seems to usually snag the yarn on the 2nd black hook,at least once every time I use it. I do love it though, with practice, and a good flashlight and loom hook right by my side when using,I’m getting the hang of it, tension is a big factor and having the yarn pulled from the center, rather than from the outside is very important. I’ve learned how to fix a dropped stitch with a crochet hook, after removing from the Addi,so I don’t freak out as much as when I first started. I think if I have more yarn and time to practice, I will get this just right,so much so,I’m saving up for the king size Addi, definitely worth buying, just need to practice and go slow and be patient. 🙂

This product as a knitting machine is great but on the second project the row counter stopped working I just spoke with amazon about it because they have no number for the hobby queen inc that sold it to me and they said I can send this one back and get a new one but I have to pay $30 more. I am very dissatisfied with this service.

This machine is what I use to make baby hats and scarves. It takes me about 10 mins to make a baby hat. I love it because it saves me a lot of time. I do have to watch it so that it does not drop a stitch. I am not a knitter so this machine is an awesome invention.

I make these baby stocking caps with the Addi-express machine. I bought a red adapter for the handle on eBay that uses a rechargeable electric screw driver to run the machine. It makes 60 to 65 rows in less than 2 minutes! It takes me longer to double the knitted sleeve into the hat shape and make/add the pompom than it takes to knit the 65 rows with the electric screw driver. You can find videos of it’s use on YouTube.

I already have an Addi King size, and now the Pro. The difference between the two is size. There is a learning curve for either Addi, so watch the DVD and some YouTube videos. I love both of my Addis. My only complaint is that they are pricey.

Om! I have had so much fun with this. There are some many videos online with ideas and patterns. I have spent ever evening watching a video and making something for my kids or grand kids. Worth the expense!

I knew there was a learning curve, and I even had grace for it as it snagged while I got the hang of it. I had no idea the tube would be this small (would make great wrist warmers or socks, never hats), but I also had hopes of making long tube scarves, which this would be great for. Unfortunately mine snagged consistently on the first needle every few rows, and I had to really keep an eye on it to fix any snags before the row ended. Other needles snagged, too, but the first one seemed most consistent; it may have been how it trips the row counter. I feel like a problem this consistent means it’s truly a very bad product or defective. There was even a snag underneath that I didn’t find until many rows later, and it created a huge hole. It’s just too small and fiddly for the price and what I feel it promised. I didn’t feel like I could reliably succeed at all with this product.

I had hoped this would help with the boring stages of knitting a sleeve or a sock, but no. It only creates overly large stitches that are see-through. It doesn’t seem able to handle the thickness of yarn that would be required to get a good, solid fabric. So for me, this is more of a toy. And if a toy, then one would be better off to buy the toy version for $40 than this one at $140. Very disappointed, and sent it back.

this machine is an excellent investment for making basic socks.Due to the needle count, elaborate ribs and heel shaping is not what I believe is does best .Being a purest, it took me a great deal of experimentation as to how it could be best used for me.Doing tube socks filled the void of what I used to do continuously.Antique machines were my passion but the Addi does an amazing job knitting effortlessly and can do some bulky yarn, if used by changing the ply.I favor the Caron paints as it knits these yarns beautifully and artfully, but different from what I had done ,.Today I was able to divide a skein of hometown and knit a very heavy sock with ease. Very amazing little machine for a golden oldie like me.Very well designed for anyones ability to still be creative.
