I like this Victorinox as it is slim and comfortable in the hand. I have a few different SAK of different sizes and love them all. I recommend any one of the many different types. Research and review all the different options and considering your needs and you can find the perfect fit for you. I like to have a lot of options for different type of use or need and according to the different clothes or packs I may be using on a given day and wether I have a belt on or the amount of pocket spaces available. I have different SAK knifes I rotated or take more then one as I like them all. You can not go wrong with one or ten different ones. Starting out small or slim is a good way to start and the Alox fit that bill for a lot of people. I like my SAK to be one inch thick or thinner to still be hand and pocket friendly. Be careful you may just become a SAK collector with out even trying once you have owned one you may just want to get another and with their great prices

I have several of the ‘conventional’ red handle SAK’s. Had a singular need for this combination of length, body width and case/blade selection. Never had the ALOX design before and -between the case and the quality of the blades (the saw blade was my real need) – I’m quite pleased. But -and I can’t criticize the maker nor Amazon, as ‘this’ was made clear- I would have been MUCH more satisfied it -like most SAK’s- it had a ‘loop’ to secure a lanyard/retainer to.

I was looking for a new knife that I could just drop into my pocket regardless of what I am doing. I really like the looks of the aluminum scales, a nice difference from the other red scaled knives. I thought that the saw was a great addition, as I find that I use it quite a bit. The blades are beyond razor sharp, opening mail that knife just glides through envelopes and even cardboard. The quality of the knife is what you expect from Victorinox. The Alox line is a great addition to the Swiss Army brand. I highly recommend this knife if you are looking for a knife that will last you decades, this is what you need.

You cannot go wrong with this knife. I have been carrying one of these for 40 years. They hold up very well. Perfect little knife.

A little sad that I don’t have a Phillips screwdriver but love the hook blade.

Just wanted main spear point blade and small hawksbill blade but the Pruner model was unfortunately discontinued. If it is brought back I would purchase it.

I got this knife for backpacking I’m gonna be honest it’s a bit heavy I now carry the plastic handle version because I found the extra large blade not needed and the extra weight not really worth it. But for a high-quality knife it’s very nice but like I said surprisingly heavy for its size it drops to the bottom of your pocket and it’s slippery compared to the plastic versions the red versions if you don’t like red what I did is upgraded mine to yellow scales but you can’t do that with the Inox versions

    The pruning blade…
