My first thought, was it’s a nice knife. Until it was used to butcher an elk, the blade got a bad nick in it from cutting a leg joint. I would expect a well made knife to not have this type of issue. Also doesn’t stay sharp for long.

  2. John (verified owner)

Very sharp out of the package. It came late so I didn’t get a chance to use it on my hunt this year. I may be helping with a bison hunt in March so will update after that.

An effective knife common within meatpacking facilities. Probably the most popular knife for routine meatpacking work– I’ve been working in the industry for decades and have seen this knife more than any other. The “swoopy” curved five-inch blade is relatively easy to sharpen and highly durable.I finally ordered one for myself just to have it on hand. The reason I give this product four stars instead of five is simply because I personally have always preferred the Victorinox 8-inch Curved Breaking Knife– which I have also reviewed on this site –but I am the outlier. Most folks, in my experience, prefer this 5-inch “swooped” knife, and they do just fine with it.

It appears to be a very nice knife for the price

This knife is an absolute razor! I really like the contourd swooping portion of the blade, will make quick work out of deer, beaver, and raccoon with this. This knife will most definitely be a favorite in the field and on the trapline this fall. Only down fall is there is no sheath and I’m unable to find anything that will fit it at the moment. Plan to have a custom leather sheath made for it but that takes time and $80 unfortunately. All in all I highly recommend this to any hunter, trapper, or butcher!

    Works perfect for skinning deer!

I have found this brand to be the best on the market. Used them for years in professional meat cutting

  9. Carlos Garcia (verified owner)

I saw that it was used to fillet a redfish easily on tick tock. It was not true

  10. Ron Cameron (verified owner)

    Very happy with the knives…
