To make the best pedals on earth – through fit, function, and performance.
Made for cross country MTB riders, the ATAC XC 2 pedal features the easy engagement and self-cleaning design of the ATAC system and the durability of MIM (metal in mold) arches and a steel axle. At under 200 grams per pedal, the XC 2 is very versatile and incredibly affordable.
TIME’s Auto Tension Adjust Concept (ATAC) automatically sheds mud and dirt from clogging up its dual-arch design, so you won’t have to struggle to find your cleat position in wet and mucky conditions. Three different spring tension settings fine-tune the sensation of the +/- five degrees of angular float, allowing you to find the perfect amount of resistance or freedom to suit your riding style. Six millimeters of lateral float allow for side-to-side movement of the pedal, so you can find a more comfortable pedaling position. The ATAC XC 12’s cleat is reversible, allowing to choose a release angle of 13 or 17 degrees.

Getting into your pedals is simple and speedy, thanks to ATAC Technology’s wide-angle step-in design. ATAC allows for a wide angle of step-in for positive engagement that allows for natural foot movement. What’s more, a clean pedal is an efficient pedal. If only cleaning the rest of your bike was this easy: Each time you step in, ATAC clears away mud and debris as you step in.

These pedals are amazing. $50 on amazon and worth every penny. My last pair of time XC pedals were $150. I don’t recall the model because I bought them from a bike shop when my egg beater pedal snapped off mid MTB ride. That bike was sadly stolen and I purchased these xc2 pedals on the new bike. They seem to work just as good if not better. They have the time reversible cleat system which I love,They are durable, maintenance free, and just work. Also the platform is just right for when you don’t have time to get clipped in when restarting on a climb. They totally work as platforms when necessary on those moments. And $50. Pedals of comparable price are egg beaters which snapped on me on a sudden climb, and Shimano which I simply hate the feel of.Go with Time.

I got the xc 4 pedals for my race bike and liked them enough to get these for my back up/ride with my kids bike.Entry/exit is way easier than SPD pedals. Exit is the same for crankbrothers pedal systems, however they are noticably more difficult on entry than my eggbeaters. This might be me getting used to them, but if it’s not, well it’s a decent trade off. The pedal platform of the Time pedals gives me no foot pain during longer rides like the eggbeaters did, so I can go with a sub $200 shoe which I appreciate. The other thing the Time platform does is allow better power transfer when pedaling. Some reviews say the quality of the new ones aren’t as good as the older models….but what is nowadays? I still find them a good budget friendly yet performance oriented pedal.

The body of the pedal is a reinforced plastic, but they’ve held up to my 210 pound weight bashing around on my trail bike. I ride a lot of rock gardens and have had a lot of pedal strikes but haven’t seen any major damage. I’ve been riding the aluminum version for years, but lost my pair when moving and also wanted to try something a bit lighter (I’m too heavy and too cheap for the titanium version).I prefer TIME ATAC pedals over Shimano’s spd or Crankbrother’s eggbeaters. They clip in more securely and release more consistently than the other two. They came with the 11/17 degree cleat, so it has a good amount of float but is still easy to unclip.

I have been running Time ATAC pedals on all of my bikes for many, many years.A $$$ carbon fiber ATAC’s on my Peloton finally gave up the ghost.Seeing as how weight is not really an issue on a Peloton, I went with the cheapest ATAC pedals I could find and they work just as well as the $$$ ones.

I have Time Atac’s on all my bikes, road, touring, and gravel. Easy in and out even with shoes caked in mud. They hold up for years and have never had a problem with them. They are a bit heavier than some pedals but I really dont care about a few ounces here or there, I care about durability and quality.

In the past maybe 15 years I have broken a few peddles the medal that holds the shoes breaks but if you use the other side of the peddle it still works fine.Truth is it is very durable and the value is unbeatable.

I’ve been riding the ATAC pedals for decades and have not had one failure. Yes, the metal bars eventually wear out but, dang- they just work great and last a long time!

Wasn’t sure if I liked them at first coming from road pedals. Once I got used to how they clip in, I love them. Great for touring and longer rides. Extra float allows natural knee adjustments over long rides.

Easy to get in and out of, allows adequate float, very reasonably priced. No need to spend more on fancier pedals.

Been a bicycle courier for years now and was hesitant to go clipless. I don’t have anything to compare them with (spd, crank brothers, etc) but after I got used to them, I’m kicking myself for waiting so long. Been about a month now, around 900 miles, and no issues.
