The bracket arrived on time and packaged nicely. The only negative I have is that I did not need the thru axle portion; most likely you do not need the axle portion. I tested this on three different bikes with their stock quick releases, and all three hand enough thread engagement to work with the bracket. Just a rule of thumb, you only need the threads to engage the equivalent of the diameter of the axle, aka 5mm is a typical skewer diameter.

This is the exact same as the ezHitch that came with our Chariot. They’re strong and I can’t imagine this ever breaking or wearing out. The other piece that goes into this from the trailer…perhaps this will wear over time. My wife and I are glad we can now quickly switch the bike trailer between us and keep up a faster pace over long rides. She’s also glad she doesn’t have to take this off my bike when she wants to go on a ride by herself.

These are great hitch parts yet should not be this expensive. I am weary of giving Thule so much money. Its a $6 axle with a $2 cast aluminum socket joint. All I can do is take away a star for the high cost. Boy will that make a difference…

The hole the securing pin slides through isn’t far enough out to clear the seatstays or fender mounts on two of the bikes we want to use it with. Also, the skewer is ridiculously long even for a 135-spaced rear hub. It’s also an extremely sub-par external-cam skewer which have been proven to be unreliable and have inferior clamping force.

Already have one of these for one our our bikes. Needed another because when It’s just the little one and I going for a bike ride I still like ridding my bike not my Husbands. I have a hybrid bike and its much more comfortable for me to ride around town than it is my husbands older mountain bike. Four stars is just because I don’t have a quick release wheel so my husband had to Jerry rig this to work. Didn’t take him long because he had to do the same on his bike. Would be nice if there was an option to purchase without the bike wheel bar. Seems a waist, they are now both hanging in the garage on the wall. Love our Chariot though, Purchased from friends of ours who just had another baby so they wanted to get a two seater. If your looking to buy for your bike adventures I highly recommend. Axle is too long for older road bike and cannot be used as the nut bottoms out on the threads before it is sufficiently tight. Existing axle is long enough to use with the actual hitch though so it is functional. As others have noted Thule really needs to offer just the hitch for sale without the skewer/axle. It would make the price actually reasonable

We had a carrier mount that came with our Chariot bike trailer, which stayed installed on my Trek bike. This meant I was always pulling the trailer or my husband was riding my bike as we didn’t want to be changing out the mount. We wanted to install a second one on my husbands bike and found this on Amazon. It appears and works just like the original. The price seemed high but the convenience helped us to justify the cost. It has been in use for several months and seems to work as expected.

My original Thule Coaster XL bike trailer had one of these so I decided to buy a 2nd one for my 2nd bike to connect and I have no issues with this product. Works the same as the original.

Item was used/opened when it arrived. Seal on box was broken and axel was removed from plastic bag packaging. We used it anyway because we had a family bike ride planned. Just annoying it was sold as “new” but wasn’t. FYI- this does work with the older chariot bike kit models.
