I have used these pads on some different wheels and they perform differently on every one. For example, on my new Mercurys they do not work well (squeaking under not much braking), but on an older used Mercury of the same model they work great. They only start to make a noise under very hard and long braking. They also work great on a Chris Boardman wheel I have. So, you can’t even say for sure that they work well on a specific model of wheel. You won’t know unless you try them I’m afraid.

I have been rolling carbon wheels since I started cycling and these are the best break pads for mechanical breaks! I tried using the breads that came with my wheels as well as the shiminano pads and by far out perform them both. I really like the stopping power of these breaks and I feel like I can stop on a dime.I live in a hilly state so my desents are pretty steep and long. I can last about 1700-2000 miles on these pads before replacing them. They are as good as I would expect from them.

I’m a messenger in NYC an do a ton of stopping. These are the best pads I’ve had by a long shot. I have better stopping power than I did on my alloy rims. I’m pretty impressed because I was skeptical that they were worth the price. They are definitely worth the price. I will be buying these again.

Using these on a set of Prime RR-50 carbon clincher rims. The stock prime pads didn’t have very good modulation and would lock up under hard braking. These work as advertised. Plus, they’re quieter.

The pads are a little thinner to acomadate fatter wheels. The pads that came with my 404 and 808 would not allow the wheels to spin. I needed to sand a little to make them work. Not a good result. Read the description carefully and you will see it mentioned. These pads stop well and just do what there supposed to. They do wear quicker.

As the title says. These pads are really nice. I have a few sets of Yoeleo carbon wheels and these pads are way better than the stock pads. The compound is much softer than the stock pads and provides much better stopping power with a lot of grip. Be careful when you first use them and don’t slam on the brakes because they really grab. You will have to learn how to finesse these pads. I pretty much always use both brakes when stopping and doing so these bring you to a halt pretty quickly. I am using these pads on a set of Cane Creek EE brakes calipers.Recommended

I usually don’t write negative reviews, but this product is amazing in a negative way. I recently purchased a set of unused Bontrager Aeolus XXX 4 carbon clincher rims from a friend and needed brake pads for these rims. These pads were recommended by Trek so I purchased them despite the terrible reviews of the horrible longevity of these pads. I figured those negative reviews were just an anomaly. But after just 2 rides totaling 50 miles with just a few hilly descents, the pads are visibly worn about a third. This is even after trying not braking as often to preserve the pads. So I figure the pads will last me about 300 miles if I’m careful, maybe 500 miles maximum if I’m lucky. This is way too costly to spend on brake pads every few months. My Shimano Ultegra rubber pads for aluminum rims only wore down a quarter after 3000 miles. The problem is that it seems that all pads (even from different manufactures, but maybe they’re all made by Swissstop) for carbon rims

These are great carbon friendly brake pads! I have Bontrager wheels, and Bontrager recommends their branded version of these pads but I confirmed with a Trek shop that these are identical, just without the Bontrager branding. My first set wore unevenly but that was 100% my fault because I didn’t install them correctly. I let my LBS install this second set and they’re wearing perfectly. I got over a year out of the first set… probably over 4000 outdoor miles on my bike, so I definitely can’t complain about longevity. Stopping power is just fine, which is something that worried me initially when going to carbon wheels with rim brakes. In the wet it’s maybe a little lacking, but I’ve never felt unsafe with these. Highly recommended!

These are beyond great. I used them to replace the brake pads that came with/were recommended by the manufacturer of my carbon wheels. I went from mild terror on downhills to sublime confidence. They work perfectly. They don’t last for ever but, should they? They are definitely worth the price and I will happily purchase these more frequently knowing i can stop when i really need to.

Braking performance is solid but on Bontragger rims at least they just absolutely disintegrated. The above photo is after a single 11mi ride in San Francisco. I’m a heavy rider for sure (210 lbs), but I’m not even sure these would last an entire race.Utterly unusable, 1 star
