Takes a little getting used to but the end result is a good sharp blade. No more taking chains in to be done or working multiple files and fighting to get the rakes sharpened too. Very happy with easy of use and end result.

If you have the time and toll, a bench grinder is much more accurate and puts a better edge on your chain. However, if you are out at your wood pile just trying to get through some logs so you can get them to the splitter, this little things works great for putting a sharp biting edge on your chain. Fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it and I like how it files the safety guide at the same rate as the chain teeth. Do yourself a favor though, shop locally and you will probably find it at your local Costal, or Farm supply store for $10 cheaper. I bought it and returned it after I found it cheaper and because the one I was sent had clearly been used before. Not bad little sharpener, buy local.

It took me a few tries to get the hang of it but once I did I really like this sharpener. I have a 25” bar and those chains ain’t cheap so sharpening is much better than replacing them. I thought I was pretty good at sharpening with a file until I got good with this sharpener and I like that it files down the rakers and that the files in the sharpener are replaceable with common files from the hardware store. Great product.

Easy to follow directions and quick to sharpen the chain. All done in one operation, just follow the arrows and 4 – 5 pulls toward you and the tooth is sharpened
