Easy to use, to read and repeatable. Built to last.

Starrett products are always pretty great in my opinion. Great, accurate set of calipers.

If you’ve a machine that isn’t CNC you know that an accurate caliper is absolutely necessary to make good parts. You also know that a caliper in a shop can lead a rough life. Cheap calipers aren’t accurate and super accurate calipers are expensive and usually fragile. This caliper is in the “Goldilocks” region; reasonably priced, and accurate/repeatable to the 0.001” (yes it’s got a half a thousandth last digit but we all know that’s not repeatable in a caliper). Be aware that Starrett isn’t manufacturing this in the US which may be a requirement for certain contracts.

I like it, the feel is different from mit, it’s tight, I oiled the grove. Over time it should be easier to slide. Definitely satisfied.

Works good

I bought these for my Son so he’d have a good, made in the USA tool for life. Turns out, it was made in China. While it’s not garbage, I might as well bought a $30 set of calipers. I’m no paying this much money for Chinese made stuff. I’ll be sending this back.

They worked really well when I got them. Accurate, reliable. I had them for about one year before the plastic portion of them handle cracked, rendering them useless. I had previously bought husky calipers from Lowes for 30 dollars that out lasted this almost 200 dollar set.

Starrett used to be a great company making high quality tools, gauges, etc. These calipers were made in China and are absolute garbage. I bought them to save time measuring brass cases as my American made Starrett dial calipers are harder to read than the digital readout calipers. I had to re-measure every one of the cases measured on the Chinese calipers. I returned the Chinese made calipers and will continue to use my American made calipers because they are very accurate.

My original caliper, which I bought in 1976, still looks and works like brand new.The quality of this one seems almost as good, and it is easier to read and therefore better at avoiding mistakes.

It is the best; it’s a Starret isn’t it?
