my 2019 trek slash came with a 32T chainring which was a bit much for me on the eagle drivetrain. downsizing to 30T allows me to get uphill without so much strain

I swapped to this sexy, 32t, chainring from a SRAM 32t steel X Sync chainring. Because of the direct mount design, I easily changed the ring in about 15 minutes. I could instantly feel a difference in that the teeth seem to hold onto the chain a lot better than the original ring because of the design profile. I don’t know if it’s a psychological thing, but my pedal strokes seem smoother, more powerful. Anyway, I can’t wait to hit more difficult trails to see if I can get the chain to jump off. Btw, I am running this on a 1 x 9 setup and so far it works well. Great product SRAM, good job!

Note that the chainring that you will receive is NOT the chainring in the picture. The picture is of the forged and machined AL chainring (which is 2-3x the cost). The chainring you will receive is forged AL – It’s still Eagle and Sync 2, just a bit heavier and doesn’t look as fancy. I would return but I was desperate to get a bike on on the trails – it will work okay, but still, it’s the wrong picture.
