SRAM 5.1 DOT Hydraulic Brake Fluid
An essential part of your hydraulic braking system. Used to transfer lever braking force into pressure, amplifying braking force.
Our DOT 5.1 Fluid meets the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Department of Transportation’s strict standards. It allows the braking system to resist the high temperatures that are created when you brake, absorbing possible stress on the braking system.
Long life span means fewer fluid changes, and that means more time on the trail!
Anytime you shorten your brake hoses or if you want to keep your SRAM or Avid disc brakes performing at their best, we’d recommend bleeding the brakes once a year with the PitStop 5. 1 DOT Hydraulic Brake Fluid. This brake fluid is the OEM replacement DOT-5. 1 fluid in a non-silicone formula that comes stock on SRAM and Avid hydraulic disc brakes.
DOT 5. 1 has a higher boiling point than DOT 3 and 4 fluids so you’ll achieve the most consistent performance on long descents that can often plague hydraulic discs. The package is vacuum sealed to prevent water absorption that lowers the boiling point of the fluid.
DOT 5.1 brake fluid is compatible with all SRAM and Avid hydraulic disc brakes.
RELENTLESS
To be the best. It’s why you ride. It’s why we build components. The perfect combination of precision and brute force. No obstacles stopping us. No limitations slowing us down. Ours is a relentless pursuit: to make the climb shorter, the trail smoother, the turn tighter, the descent faster. To give you the strongest, lightest, quickest bike on earth. To be the best.
A HISTORY OF INNOVATION
SRAM was founded on a single product in 1987 and introduced the Grip Shift (or twist shift) shifter to the road bike market in 1988. In 1991 that technology was adapted for mountain bikes, and SRAM quickly grew.
SRAM FUNDAMENTALLY BELIEVES THAT:
Cyclists are a passionate user group that support and enhance the areas in which they ride.
SRAM’s products promote sustainability – they empower people to transport themselves and their families at low cost, to stay healthy, and to reduce pollution and improve community by reducing the use of fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
SRAM is proud to deliver quality, exciting, sustainable products to its customers, but our obligation to social responsibility does not start and end with our products. We are also committed to improving our business practices to increase our positive impact on our employees, the people in our communities and those far away, and our planet itself.
Our purpose statement is “We believe in the power of bicycles and expanding the potential of cycling. We create and manufacture components that inspire cyclists.”

Good thanks

Good stuff. Bottle does not seal very well once opened. Definetly store in a good, thick ziploc plastic bag because it will leak out of the bottle.

This is the exact brake oil SRAM recommends for their hydraulic bike brakes. The small bottle seems more than enough to do several brake bleeds.

I’m sure almost any pure 5.1 without SRAM label will work just a well so IMO way overpriced!
