WTB Silverado Saddle

Steel Padding

DNAx:

Soft to the touch, this lightweight polyurethane padding is a great option for anyone experiencing sore contact points on their saddle. Ideal for rides of shorter duration.

Cromoly Padding

HLX

30% more shock absorbent than polyurethane, HLX padding is plusher than our DNA padding. It’s a great option for those of you who prioritize squishiness over weight savings. Wish your memory foam mattress topper could be transformed into a saddle? Look no further than our HLX padding.

Titanium Padding

DNA PADDING:

Superlight polyurethane provides a dense padding that dramatically reduces saddle weight and provides our ultimate level of support. DNA padding holds its shape incredibly well over long rides as well as throughout the lifetime of the saddle, providing unbeatable comfort on long rides and durability in the years to come.

Carbon Padding

DNA PADDING:

Superlight polyurethane provides a dense padding that dramatically reduces saddle weight and provides our ultimate level of support. DNA padding holds its shape incredibly well over long rides as well as throughout the lifetime of the saddle, providing unbeatable comfort on long rides and durability in the years to come.

WTB Silverado

Steel Rails

Our entry-level saddles utilize strong and reliable steel rails to provide lasting comfort and durability and affordability.

WTB Silverado

Cromoly Rails

Increased strength and less weight make cromoly steel a noticeable upgrade over traditional steel rails. The perfect choice for bikepackers and avid off road riders.

WTB Silverado

Titanium Rails

Nearly as light as carbon, titanium rails are able to flex without losing structural integrity, making it a top material for saddle rails.

WTB Silverado

Carbon Rails

Top-tier performance and ultimate weight savings for gram-conscious riders. These rails are designed to provide optimal support at a minimal weight.

WTB Silverado Saddle

Cover Materials

MICROFIBER COVER:

Found on all WTB saddles, our Microfiber cover closely replicates the look and feel of a leather cover. The supple nature of the Microfiber Cover allows the foam to support the sit bones without interfering with its resiliency.

ABR CORNERS:

Abrasion Resistant Corners, these durable patches of material protect the corners and sides of the saddle from rips and tears.

Very comfortable for about the first hour and a half and towards the end of a three hour ride I couldn’t wait to get off. This saddle has considerably more padding than any I’ve owned which I thought might help for longer rides but that’s certainly not the case. If I had to guess it’d be the saddle is a little to flat and doesn’t offer enough relief cutout in the middle. I’m going to try the Fizik Argo R5 and see if that’s the holy grail.

Less is more with this Saddle. Its on the light side of padding, but is plenty adequate. If you hind end is already used to saddles you should like this a bunch. If you are new to ridding and/or like a think amount of padding look elsewhere. I find the saddle very comfy for long rides in the mountains and shorter local rides. As far as durability time will tell, but this replaced a prior model that was five years old that I broke the rail on. I don’t blame the seat for the broken rail as I had used, abused and crashed the bike multiple times. I have broke other seats and seat posts in my almost 30 years of mountain biking. Also had jumped many times and come down hard on it. To sum it up its a great value saddle that looks good, is comfy, and should last a long time.

I needed to replace my stock saddle and checked a lot of different options. Before getting this one I bought a competitors saddle (which was much more $ btw) and it just wasn’t for me. I was going to get the volt but since it has the “duck tail” end near the back I knew I wouldn’t like it. Enter the Silverado saddle, which is perfect!! It’s more flat yet still sort of long so it allows for a lot of movement and seating options. It also has the comfort zone up front for “the boys” which is great. But it also has two more comfort zones underneath the two main “butt pads” which aren’t very visible in the pictures here. After my first ride I knew I had to post a review. I’ll be buying the chrome moly version soon so I will have it for if the steel one I bought ever wears out.

Nice and flat!! Just the way I like my bike saddles.

If you are looking for a flat saddle with comfort in all positions (aero, climbing, seated) you simply cannot beat the Silverado. I’ve had the fancy shape shifting saddle, a 3-D printed saddle and the short nose types, they worked for me for a few months but I was never really comfortable. The Silverado is neutral and flat so all you have to do is dial in tilt and forward/aft position. When climbing the rear part of the saddle has good padding and when you are tucked down in aero position the nose is supportive.Weight is irrelevant if you are reading this, weight is irrelevant for 99.9% of all cyclist needing a new saddle 100g difference in saddle weight means nothing so don’t focus on that and get trapped buying expensive lightweight saddles, like I did before buying this Silverado.

Hey!!! Watch for carbon rails are not round, they are oval!!!

  7. Captaingiles (verified owner)

Chevrolegs when riding this saddle. Comfortable durable and worth it

  8. Jose (verified owner)

I had really high hopes since wtb is a very reputable brand but the rails bet after one case I understand that this isn’t for what it’s made for for but I would rather it be a bit heavier than so weak.

I bought the titanium rail Silverado to replace my Ergon SM. After building my last bike my Ergon just didn’t fit me well. I went with the WTB based on a friend’s advice. Today I got I put it through a few good tests through rock gardens, up technical climbs, down a jump line, and off a few drops. The saddle was there and comfortable when I needed it and it disappeared when I didn’t want it in my way. The shape and nose made for a good technical climbing saddle and helped keep the rear end under control. The quality is very solid. I’m sure that I’ll get a few good seasons out of this.

This my 2nd Silverado saddle. They are perfect for my style of riding. (All Mountain)

  11. Michael Winegar (verified owner)

If you’re into narrow thin padded saddles this may be the one you’re looking for. Have this on three bicycles and really like it. Have spent probably 20 hours in the past we can a half on the saddle with zero issues. The seat has enough flex to be comfortable on rough trails and roads but not so much that it causes pressure point issues.

I usually on Specialized 143mm saddles but comp only because their Carbon version are pretty stiff! Not this WTB Silverado Carbon 142mm. I thought it would be stiff but it feels very similar to steel rail model. Not to mention its very light at 154.8 grams vs the advertised 180g!No creaking on steel or carbon models.
