Bright bright bright! This light will definitely do what you need it too. Plus the red lens for nighttime is phenomenal. I coupled it with the rechargeable battery and have been 100% satisfied with my purchase.

I’m pretty disappointed in the quality of plastic on this headlamp. The profit margin on this product must be astronomical. It’s so thin it will crack if it bumps against a water bottle in your pack. I need a rugged shell on my headlamps that can sustain getting tossed around – this ain’t it.

Lost my previous headlamp after an NTC rotation, and replaced it with this. Also grabbed one of the Core rechargeable batteries, which will reduce my dependency on triple A’s.I spend a lot of the time in the field, which can be really tough on equipment. I get the feeling the plastic case on this may not end up being super durable, especially when being used in dry, desert climates with big temperature swings.I mostly use the red light, which produces a nice, even beam. Bright enough to work with, but not so bright as to affect my night vision and be seen for miles away (when using at least a little light discipline). The band is comfortable and easily adjustable. Can be adjusted long enough to go around a helmet without stretching. It also has a clasp to open up the band, which is useful.

I like this headlamp. Petzl seems like a sure bet as far as brands go too. Coworkers of mine had them long ago and like them very much. It gets extremely bright for how small it is. There are 3 different brightness settings too for the times when you need less illumination. I would recommend this to others who are looking for a headlamp. There are other cheaper options but I would say go with the quality and be done with it. My delivery was on time as well and the packaging arrived damage free. No complaints at all.

The quality of this is very disappointing, especially compared to my two other Petzl headlamps that lasted me many years. This plastic feels cheap and easily breakable. There are gaps in the seam where the battery compartment closes – water or humidity would easily get in! If you are looking for rugged, this is NOT it. The headband material is also cheaper and feels easy to snag and fray. This headlamp isn’t horrible, but is definitely overpriced for the quality I have come to expect from Petzl – my other two headlamps have held up for years with zero issues. They have been dropped on the ground many times without damage. This one seems like it would readily crack if I accidentally drop it or even just bump it against other things in my backpack. The light itself is fine but I can’t imagine it will last long in such a cheap plastic casing. Not stoked. Go for the $20 one.

Just got this to replace a Petzl Tactikka XP I had from the Marines which was great but corrosion killed it. This is no where near as durable or of the same quality. The lighting is way better but the shell is not nearly as waterproof as the XP (it actually had a gasket around the battery housing) so that was tremendously disappointing. Not sure how this is for hunting or fishing if it’s not going to be waterproofed better. The lighting is awesome and great with making batteries last but the lack of better waterproofing and durable housing is what bothers me the most.

Does not come with the CORE rechargeable pack… but does start dim then goes bright which I like plus the hold to switch to red is nice as well

My previous Petzl Tactikka lasted 6yrs of AD Army life and was awesome! It finally died after being ran over by a vehicle, so I ordered another and have been nothing but disappointed. Petzl is now using super cheap and brittle plastic and the overall quality isbgarbage. A week after purchase, this new Petzl cracked after falling off my workbench in the garage; luckily it wasn’t a major crack, so I kept using it. Two months after purchase, I knocked it off the same workbench and it cracked again (in a different spot). Now it won’t stay on, so it’s going in the trash and I’ll be ordering a different brand.TLDR: if you’re rough on your equipment, just skip Petzl products – they’re not what they used to be and you’ll be disappointed.

Arrived as scheduled. Great product, exactly as described and lightweight to wear, not to mention 3 white light settings plus red and red strobe.

The brightness is scalable to what you need. Used this on my last camping trip and it is able to light up your entire tent at night whilst looking for something and also tone it down for whatever else. My last Petzl is 13 years old and still great.. the elastic band is the only thing that’s “worn out” but it’s still completely functional. Highly recommend Petzl for all your camp lighting needs!
