I’ve only seen the cool kids with this headlamp! I often run at night and do a bunch of trail running. Having this light gave me tons of confidence during a recent all night trail 100k race, it lasted longer than I did. Having a single button control is an improvement from the REACTIK+ (which has been my go to for the past 5 years) The simplicity comes at the cost of not having the dim red light for when you’re trying to be discreet. The “lumens” number is basically worthless when comparing different products, much more important is how the lens optics spreads the beam. Its really freaking bright, but it puts the light where you want it. If you’re not using a USB rechargeable headlamp, you have no idea what you’re missing not having to stress about saving batteries. This headlamp will be the class leader for years.

Three adjustable levels of brightness, the brightest being very very bright. Excellent product. As others have pointed out, the button you press to adjust the brightness and turn it on and off is not the most comfortable or easy to press. But I have gotten used to it. This was meant to be a runners head lamp, so you would turn it on and leave it on for your morning or evening run. I use it more like a flashlight to take our dog out in the early morning and night. I do not find the automatic, reactive light feature to be useful, so for me it is just three short presses on the button, followed by a slightly longer press to get to the maximum brightness I always use. Battery lasts a long time between charges.

This is a great headlamp when I’m out in the dark with the cougars and other beasts lurking around the bend. I have really great visibility.I enjoy how easy it is to adjust up and down depending if I’m running uphill, down, or flat. The battery life is amazing. I never need to use the brightest setting, but I do right at twilight and I’ll explain why below. The reactive lighting is a bit of a sham. It totally works, but part of the reason the battery life is so long in reactive mode is because it doesn’t use the focused beam. Standard mode uses both. When I run, I used the middle of the three settings in standard mode so that the focus beam is enabled. I’ve run in that mode for 90 mins and only used 20% of the battery. Right at twilight when I can see ok w/o the headlamp, but not quite enough, I like to switch to the highest setting in reactive mode. It gives me just the right amount of light to enhance my view and when I’m going in and out of trees, it brightens w

I must admit to liking Petzl product, but there are lots of reasons why I do. This Swift RL replaces a Petzl Tikka R4 headlamp, that has given nightly service for the last six plus years. I live off grid and at elevation, so reliability and functionality are everything. The RL has some good features, like a lock to ensure it won’t accidentally come on when carried. A five bar battery state indicator, and incredible main beam output of a quoted 900 lumens (my Tikka is 170). The on / off button toggles intuitively through the three reactive brightness levels, and a press and hold steps to the higher, non reactive settings. No fancy coloured lights or strobes, just beautifully bright light in any weather. And it’s not made in China!

Seems like a great product – no more buying batteries.

Impressed, but not as bright as expected. Really pricey! The proof will be the in it’s durability! We’ll wait and see…

The headband is comfortable and easy-to-use. The built-in Micro USB charge port is convenient for recharging. But Reactive Lighting (R) is a waste – Especially for bicyclists and/or PEV riders – Just give me ALL of the light, please! (e.g., RL shuts off the headlamp when encountering other vehicles AND/OR reflective road signs!!!)

I bought this product for trekking during the nighttime. So brightness and weight is the most important factor to buy and carry. This product fits these objectives and the design is also good enough.
