Still haven’t had time to give this extended use, but after a night of using this I am very happy with the quality and functionality. It sits comfortably on my head, and the strap adjusts very well (even on my very large head). The range of angles are nice and usable, and I was happy to see the battery pack is removable.I had concerns about how the reactive lighting feature would work in practice. but I am happy with how it functions. Used it some, stepping between lit parts of my house, darker areas, and outside at night. the transitions were smooth, and the lights levels were quite nice.I like the beam (beams i guess, given multiple emitters), color temperature is not too warm, and not too cool (I hate overly blue LEDs). and found the throw outside at night to be very good. The output seems great, and my night of moderate use didn’t use up all that much battery.My only gripe is the lockout feature, which does not seat into the locked position very securely. Re

WOW, best headlamp ever!! It’s not cheap but I promise it’s worth your dollars! We have had several in the past that have helped do the job, several being the key word. They have never lasted. This headlamp Is amazing and quality and I suspect will last us well past the time all the others did together, therefore saving us money and getting the best product, I believe, on the market.

I bought this for my wife, who has to go out in the dark every night to check and feed her horses. There are a lot of wildlife critters roaming around our property at night, so I wanted her to have a really good headlamp. Petzl is the best. She had purchased a less expensive brand, and it works well, I have it now, but it’s not comfortable if you’re wearing it a long time. Not as bright as the Petzl either. Keep in mind that this is not a headlamp for up close hand work, it’s too bright for that, even on the low setting. ( I mean for working up close on a car, or a furnace, with your hands right in front of your face) This is for seeing a long way around you at night.Costs a bit more, but worth every penny.

I have always been a Black Diamond fan overall and also with their lighting. Until I had units going down on me after the first battery replacement.I decided to give Petzl a try and am pleased so far. The battery life is accurate as described. The unit is comfortable and easy to adjust.My one complaint is the (only) button that controls everything, seems spongy and doesn’t have a positive click. Sometimes it’s hatlrd to tell if you even pushing it or if your in the right spot.The light is very bright even in the medium setting and gives off a wide spread pattern but can be focused for a more detailed and directional beam.I’m not a fan at the minimal color selection. I ordered black and most of it is white…small gripe.Love that it’s rechargeable and the recharge is fairly quick.I do think the fit and finish is excellent and it’s easy to tell when handling that it is a quality piece of gear.I’ll post an update if I incur any issues over the next year.I can and do

Awesome, I love this light so much. You can have on an auto setting that adjusts the brightness based on the reflection of light back to the unit. I have used this running, biking, and basically living for (3) days with no electricity. Petzel, if you are reading this, please add a voice control like some adventure cameras have. That way it is still hands free and one can make adjustments to the light. Overall this is a must have and worth every cent.P.S. In manual mode you can make it go to the brightest setting that is absolutely amazing!

If you were to get one headlamp this is the one! I’ve had more than 15 headlamps before this one and this will be my only head lamp ever! I use it for everything but mostly running.

Well since i lost my headlamp last night fishing and realized it was 114.00 i am somewhat heartbroken. As a automotive technician, I have used many different lights. Always looking for the best of the best. This Petzl is that light. It’s bright, it’s very comfortable and it holds a decent charge. I am not one for reviews but since i did own it for a year and now will buy a replacement, I thought I should share my experience . I looked 3-4 hours for it. Some fish or duck is now sporting my Petzl.

With the newer Kask style hard hats becoming required on a lot of job sites, it’s good to know I can wear this around my neck and tilt it up so it points forward. This way I can still use my Kask visor and a lamp together. It actually fits on the hard hat with the visor too, but you will not be able to fully raise the visor. With this lamp you can do both options. On hat or around neck. My only complaint…it’s not compatible with the Petzl app.With that said…this lamp is bright, practical, and the battery life will get you through hours of heavy use. Perfect for an 8+ hour day on a dark job site.

This is the second Petzl headlamp that I have owned. I had the first on for over 15 years and now longer get a “Core” compatible battery for it, so I purchased the Petzl Swift RL to replace it. Only downside to this is the Swift does not have a red light night vision option that my previous Petzl had. Other than that this is a great headlamp for the $$$. Very bright and projects well into the distance on the adaptive setting. Recommended.
