Comparing this to the JinHao 750x, TWSBI Eco, and the Pilot Metropolitan series, it’s something in-between. The nib is smooth and small, but the whole pen is small. Great for small hands or if you need a non-obtrusive looking pen. I bought the Parker Deluxe Twist converter for it. When I got it, I cleaned it out with some Rohrer & Klingner Reiniger Fountain Pen Cleaner, then flushed it thoroughly with distilled water, then let it dry for a few. I filled it with my favorite Noodler’s Eel Ink, and let it sit for a few. Took it out, and it wrote excellent. The medium is a little bit on the bold side, so I can imagine that with a thinner ink (the Eel ink is designed for vacuum pens for lubrication, thus thicker), it might write a little bit wetter than normal. That can be adjusted by tightening the tines to your liking. As for it running the Eel ink, it’s fine. The feed on this pen is bar far right among the closest to the JinHao 750x in terms of keeping up with fast writers or heavy doodling (line filling, etc). The nib feeling is about equal to the JinHao 750x, but maybe closer to the Pilot Metropolitan. Someplace in-between those two pens.Overall, it’s a nice cheap pen, that will be just as durable as a JinHao and the Pilot Metropolitan.Curious to see how smoothly it will write after running a couple tanks of ink through it, or if it will need any adjusting. So far, I’m pleased with it’s writing performance.Only thing I don’t care for is the way the cap goes on. It touches the tines and I can see it messing them up if I (or another user) puts the cap on “not thinking”. I can also see ink getting inside of the cap doing this too many times (capping and uncapping a lot). That could’ve likely been easily fixed during the R&D.

This pen (with medium nib) has a very smooth writing experience and always seems to write reliably, even after it’s been sitting for a while. However, Parker nibs are small and stiff, so they don’t offer as much line variation and flourish that you find in other fountain pens. This an inexpensive pen, and feels like it. I find that the cap does not always stay posted securely and can fall off when writing. It’s a very small pen, and I need the cap posted for it to feel comfortable in my hand.Other pens I own in this price range from brands like Pilot, Monteverde and Muji look and write much nicer to me.

My previous fountain pen had thin nib and was even more lightweight. When I got this one, the weight and feel in hand was just fine, good, but at first I wasn’t wild about the medium nib, seemed a little splotchy sometimes. That was with the ink that came with the pen. Then I bought more ink cartridges, and pen would skip a lot and I’d have to retrace my writing, very exasperating, and I was blaming the pen, but I finally finished those crappy (as it turned out) cartridges, and bought some new ink cartridges from a different online vendor, and then the pen has been a dream. The ink makes all the difference. I think some vendors have had ink sitting around for a couple years or something and it’s gotten a little dry or something. Who knows, point is, the ink makes a big difference. Now with some decent ink, I am loving this pen, it’s been great, bold but not splotchy. I like it enough that I’m today buying a second one, a year after having bought the first one.

It is about fifteen years ago since I last used a fountain pen. Due to more awareness of all the material waste generated in people’s daily lives and all those toxic landfills in wild lands, I decide to stop using ball pens with disposable “refills”. So I find my way back to my trusted Parker. I forgot the feeling of a fountain pen nib moving on a paper. To my relief, this Parker Jotter medium nib writes as smoothly as a ball pen. Actually smoother. The pen is comfortable to hold and write. The down side for me is that I can’t write on both sides of some thin papers because the ink soaks to the other side a bit. I like this pen very much. In a few years when the nib wears out, I may replace the nib or try the Parker 51 I used to like so much.

The only reason that I gave it a 4-star it’s because it doesn’t come in fine nib. It would have been perfect for engineers like me who likes fine lines on anything I write, other than that, it is an excellent fountain pen for daily use.

This is a great daily pen. It’s lightweight, easy to hold and handle, and elegant. However, it is really too light for journaling and other formal writing. I have a heavier Parker Fountain Pen which is amazing and has more drag. For me, the more drag the pen has, the more control I have.

This pen writes great. It is comfortable to hold and easy to install ink and it is even easier to write with.

I put the Jotter (Blue and Silver) next to the IM (Red and Black) (both by Parker) in the photo for size comparison. The Jotter is much more narrow and has a more sleek design. This makes it harder for me to hold and increases fatigue since it requires a tighter grip. I have also included a photo where the color coating has chipped off. This is from normal use, I have never dropped this pen and after only a few months of use it has begun to show wear. It is not a bad pen, but you should know it is smaller, more narrow, and not as high quality as other pens by the same maker. Those with smaller hands may prefer the Jotter’s size to the IM

I had a fine nib Pilot Metropolitan befor but it scrunched the papers. This one is a lot more properte for every day write.
