With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The center tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the center tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control.
Pair it with a Minion DHF up front for the ultimate aggressive trail riding tire combo! The Minion DHF is available in trail, enduro, and downhill specs.

UPDATE: I am noticing most of the DHR’s sold on Amazon are closer to $100, but for $70 you are getting the same exact results. That extra $30 could get you a decent pair of handlebars instead, what a rip off from these other people!Original: This is definitely the ideal rear tire if you want to ride difficult trails. Tires are very knobby and if you should get the DHF for a front tire, but you can use this for a front if you want more speed.

Excellent tradeoff of grip and rolling resistance. Works well over rocks, hard pack and loose over hard. Dual compound wears slowly so the tire lasts a long time in good shape and is more like to be replaced from damage than wear in my experience. Only negative is that it’s not as good in muddy conditions as the treads can get a bit clogged. Not terrible, but there are better tires if you tend to ride in muddy conditions a lot.

I can’t tell you how long this tire will last but I can tell you it will grip on well on almost every surface, besides wet rocks. I haven’t had a problem with the durability of the tire, I run about 15 to 20 psi tubeless and haven’t had a puncture yet riding on sharp rocks. Now that could be because of the cushcore but the tire has held up well for me so far

Note: made for wide rims — I didn’t see this and my rims are “standard”. Likely wouldn’t have sat well on my rims and even so, would balloon a bit and not be as stable as a 2.3 tire. Did not install, returned. Giving 4 stars for the lack of clarity here. Maxxis should be leading the way and telling people what tires at Meade for their rim size.

I’m running the dhr ii as a front tire on my bike. It rolls quick but also has lots of grip. I can really push it into the corners and not feel like it will give out on me.

I’ve been using these tires for a few years and have had no problems at all mostly used for cross country and lots of bike park riding and they are great.

Well I’m just installing this tire this week but it’s the same as the one it’s replacing which is 2 years old and lots of hard trail miles. So unless something from Maxxis has changed which I hope nothing at all I’m sure I’ll be pleased.

These tyres have held up well on Colorado mountains. Yet to have a puncture on the minions

Best grip for dry and soft conditions.

The title to this post just says ‘Maxxis’. Not which tire or anything else. The main photos to this post shows Maxxis Shorty, but the pictures and descriptions show a Maxxis DHR II.What you end up getting is a Maxxis DHRII which is an awesome tire, and for this price is almost half off.I’ve mounted a couple of tubeless tires before, and sometimes they are easy, sometimes they are not. For some reason I got the front mounted ok, but the rear fought me so much I ended up just taking it to a shop. But the tires themselves felt quality, and will update once I put a couple rides on them.
