My favorite cycling cleats of the current selection. (Previously I used Time RXS). Good power transfer, easy to click in, and last a fairly long time.Note: Degrees are based on your bio-mechanics. Getting the wrong kind for you can lead to pain.

I prefer the zero float or the gray set which is about 4.5 degrees float. The red 9 degrees of float is way too much and I feel I lose too much energy, even in casual rides. I don’t race, but I like to ride with purpose. I used to have to buy a new pair of these once a quarter when I was commuting to and from work on a daily basis, even when I used covers as I walked a few yards to and from bus/train depots. Recreationally, I’ve found I only need to change them about once a year because I don’t need to walk in my shoes much during a ride. They lose a star because the plastic could be stronger in my opinion.

Coming from a set of PowerTap P1 power meter pedal cleats, these Look cleats a VERY welcome find and get. The PowerTaps were just okay at best in the beginning but after a few weeks they became increasingly problematic when it came to clipping in and out; the out part being quite annoying and even treacherous on a few occasions. I was concerned these Look cleats would not function optimally with my PowerTap pedals; not the case. They work every bit as well in terms of the data that’s ultimately produced in terms of power output and they’re significantly more easy to use (clip/unclip) than the OEM cleats that came with the pedals. All good, so far…Edit: 11/12/2018The cleats had no grip pads, nothing but plastic; something I managed to miss when installing and whether that’s a manufacturing flaw or case of misrepresented product description by the seller, I don’t know. What I do know is that after a few unnerving, slippery, foot-sliding stops, the reason became apparent. Kinda messed up my Look Keo Cleat experience…

I made the mistake of not knowing what the different colors mean and ordered the red cleats, which have 9 degrees of lateral movement vs. the grey cleats that i have been using for many years, The grey are something like 4 degrees and, for me, make it easier to unclip than the red cleats with more side to side movement. But, the Look Cleats are just fine and the vendor shipped asap.

I really like the new design as I think it offers more grip. I look at buying aftermarket versions of these, but none of them have a reasonable grip surface. As you can see in the picture, the old cleats were pretty worn. I expect to get a year or two out of these. They are a bit pricey, but in the end, I guess you get what you pay for as the quality and design are great!

The Good: I’ve been using these Keo Grip cleats with my PowerTap P1 pedals. Surprisingly, the Keo Grip cleats are easier to clip in and out than the cleats that came with (and are supposedly made for) the pedals. And the softer plastic of the Grip pads made starting at intersections or just walking much safer. The Bad: After riding for a few months and maybe 1000 miles, I noticed clipping in felt odd and discovered that the front pad had simply disappeared from the right cleat and the pad on the left cleat was peeling off. The pads were not worn even to the halfway point, so they should have lasted much longer.

These are the least durable cleats I’ve used. The rubber wears away after just a few rides and you’ll be slipping around your house on your walk out the door. The plastic is extremely soft too and wears away quickly from just the pedal and the occasional foot down at stops. They work as expected but durability is poor with the cheap plastic and rubber they use.

My first pair I used until they malfunctioned (pop out of pedal), the rubber goes quick, then you have loud tapping sound when walking, slippery on tile floors. I have toppled over a few times if I miss the first attempt to unclip, but they do stay on the pedals even with hard pedaling. They are nice and efficient and really help your biking and getting up hills. I’ll might go SPD next time so I’ll be same as my friends and also mountain bike use. Although I went to these bc my SPDs would pop out under pressure, but maybe it was due to wear and tear. One cool thing about the LOOK is they make a nice loud click when you snap in, so people know you mean business…

LOOK KEO BLACK CLEATS: These are terrific cleats for 3-hole shoes and LOOK Pedals. They come in 3 Floats: Black=0, Grey=4.5, and Red=9-degrees.I chose black for no float and increased stability. They mount easily with included hardware and are easy to adjust to your feet and riding style.Very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended.

I like little to no float and these have way too much movement for my taste. I found the cleats would detach fro. The pedal with little effort. I ended up replacing with the black cleats.
