I have been riding in Look Keo pedals for about two years. When I put these on my bike I was surprised that I had some trouble to clip out. (Did confirm that they have a different spring in them.) I think they’d be good for racing when you generally only clip out once. Fine for the trainer. For general riding outside I actually got another pair of the regular Look Keo’s instead of these for fear of the extra little delay causing me trouble on the road.

After years of riding the KEO classic pedals that refused to die on me I finally pulled the plug and purchased these KEO max 2 carbon pedals. Wishing I had done it sooner, these pedals are amazing. They hold tight, the adjustment is infinite and the included cleats have just the right amount of float to keep me in place but allows me to unclimbed with hardly any work. They look sleek and work as described, they even knocked off a few grams from my last set. Highly recommended, you won’t be let down by these pedals.

I’m only about 400 miles into these pedals, including a Century ride. I’m already very impressed. Love the increased, stainless covered contact area that was added without adding weight. The clip in/out is very crisp and precise. Not sure I understand the negative reviews on clip out difficulty. Mine are set on the medium (out of the box) tension setting, and it’s perfectly reliable – in and out without even thinking about it and no unexpected decoupling in hard standing climbs or other situations the cleat/pedal interface becomes a bit dynamic. Spindle smoothness is on par with other high end pedals. The carbon body and updated streamlining make it a good looking pedal too. Priced like a high end pedal because it is. The performance merits the price.
