This pen is a gift for our son. We have used Lamy brand pens for years and they do not disappoint.I don’t understand the query for rating sheerness – which I might associate with curtains- or for thickness.Usually we love Lamy pens and find them a quality pen.

Overall a good pen. I like the design and texture. I do not like the Lamy ink cartridge. The nib of the pen doesn’t stick out far enough. I found using a Pentel Energel refill with a Pilot G2 spring on the bottom of the pen the perfect solution. Plus Energel refills are much cheaper about $1/each vs. $4-5 each for the Lamy refill, and Energel nibs stick out further than G2 nibs in this pen.

These usually last me a few years before I misplace them. I always come back and buy another one. Mine came with blue ink, which isn’t what I use, but they are easily replaced. Writing is smooth and delightful. Ink quality is great, and I’m always happy to read back what I’ve written with this pen.

I love this pen! I take handwritten notes in meetings with clients and as a leftie used to accept ink all over my hand as a fact of life. Not with this pen! I can write quickly and effortlessly, and my hand is 100% clean. I plan to buy more and keep refills on hand.

Nice pen. Writes as well as any lamy with the same refill. Only issue I have is it shipped with a blue refill rather than the black refill the description specified. Only option given to me is to return it for a replacement, and it’s not worth that hassle as I’d likely end up with the same problem again. Hence the 2 star review. Won’t buy from this seller again.

If you’ve used the fountain pen variant of the Safari, this pen will feel very familiar—the shell is identical except for the omitted reservoir window. Very durable, lightweight plastic with a pleasant texture and a fluted grip that prevents the pen from sliding out of your hand. The clip is very sturdy. This is a very thick pen that sits comfortably in the hand but weighs rather little. (Metal shells eat your hearts out!)The included rollerball refill that came included with my order was the wrong color (blue instead of black); I’ve noticed that a few others have mentioned this happening in their reviews, as well. If this is of consequence to you, you may need to have a spare black refill on standby or be prepared to return your order should it arrive with the wrong ink.
