This was the first time I ever used soft pastel pencils. I love them. I saw in the previous reviews that many people were upset because they had trouble sharpening them. They do not have any wax in them to keep them together, so they will never hold up to any pencil sharpener. They are rather delicate, but that is because of the way they are made. They lay down beautiful layers of pigment that rub right into the tooth of the paper, and that’s what they are supposed to do. Love, love, love these pencils.

Because regular soft pastel chalk can be messy, I like working with soft pastel pencils instead. This brand was not able to match the brilliance of chalk brands, but I was satisfied when creating with small and simple landscapes.

I love these pencils! The tin contains a wonderful set of colors that are easy to use especially for small spaces. I strongly recommend this product for anyone who wants to do pastel drawings.
