Description

Made In Wuppertal-Cronenberg, Germany. In Addition To Quality, Innovation And Performance, Other Important Cornerstones Are Sustainable Actions And Value-Guided Orientation.

For plastic pipes, plastic armoured pipes and hoses (also fabric reinforced)

Trapezoidal blade cuts two cut edges simultaneously

Thanks to the trapezoidal shape, the blade firstly cuts wedge-shaped into the material. The manual force initially acts on the tip of the blade and, during the cutting process, follows the shape of the material in a circular (radial) way from the inside out and onto the material. This prevents distortions as can arise when cutting using a conventional shearing action with two straight cutting edges. The trapezoidal shape has other benefits:

Right-angled, clean cuts – with little physical effort

Due to the exact positioning of the material in the hose and protective pipe cutter and the wedge-shaped blade, the Knipex 90 20 185 pipe cutter automatically produces right-angled cuts. After cutting, no finishing (e.g. deburring) is required on the cut edges. Whether cutting plastic armoured pipes or fabric-reinforced hoses – e.g. for compressed air: the effort required is low due to the favourable angle of entry of the blade. Little effort is needed because the material has already been cut into.

Fast, convenient work thanks to opening spring, positioning and fastening

The opening spring assumes the work of opening for the user during each cutting operation. The spring presses the handles apart and opens the shears while reducing manual force. This is a great advantage, especially during large projects with several work processes. A pawl is integrated for transport. The material to be cut is positioned and secured in the wide, half round support. The pipe cutter for hoses and protective pipes ensure the right-angled position of the material to the blade. This enables cuts to be made in quick sequence using the pipe cutter for hoses and protective pipes.

Knipex quality – pipe cutter for hoses and protective pipes

The pipe cutter from Knipex is a tool for various industries where compressed air hoses are used. Professional users expect a quality that permits simple and safe work as well as a tool that lasts for many years of hard use.

We forge our tools from quality materials, machine them with high precision on modern machinery and harden them with careful multiple stage heat treatment

Every pair of Knipex pliers represents more than 130 years of specialist know-how.

I bought these to replace a PCV cutter I had that the blade broke. This model cutter won’t cut schedule 40 PVC without a lot of squeezing, and even then, won’t cut it square. I returned this model and bought model 94 10 185, which cuts schedule 40 like a breeze.

  2. Your review is awaiting approval

Excellent tubing cutters. I use then daily to cut poly tubing and love them. However, I recently noticed the blade is dulling and found one replacement blade here on amazon is $30!! I have tons of Knipex tools and all of them including these cutters are high quality. $30 dollars for a consumable item on a $50 dollar tool is ridiculous though.

Bought this to cut PEX type A Upinor brand tubing for water supply, Very Very Sharp infant I have used it to remove a few collars that I need to reuse the fitting. This is the real deal Knipex German made quality, cuts dead straight at 90 degree to pipe, and will last a long time.

This makes cutting rubber hose a billion times easier than using a razor. I also cut 2 gauge bronze welding cable cleanly and easily and also heat shrink for the cable even though it’s not recommended for that.

  5. Ryan McDonald (verified owner)

I use this cutter for hydraulic brake lines and irrigation tubing mostly, but I’ve used it for many other things as well. Such a useful tool and worth the price for sure!

  6. J N (verified owner)

I have switched most of my hand tools over to Knipex. This is the only one I have not been impressed with especially with the price attached to it. Does it’s “job”, but it is poor quality compared to their other tools. Would recommend another brand for a cutter over this one.

They’ve come in handy cutting different types of rubber hoses. Requires very little effort.

First impression, not very substantial. I was probably right All those years, a good razor knife is all you need to make repair cuts for mend/install on compressed air or garden water hose. True enough still after use wow. I’m a fan, and these stay in my ear hose clamp kit box with the10 99 1220 front and side jaw crimpers.Mostly quit using the worm drive clamps they somehow manage to come loose over time. And if I come up on more substantial hose I’ll get this guys bigger brothers. You can make a non perpendicular cut especially if you crushed the brass fitting with your pliers wrench or your working with thin cheap nasty hose, in which case you have that coming.

Do Not Buy This Product. I Cannot Believe Knipex Would Put Their Name On This Product. I have many Knipex Tools But This PVC Cutter Is Hard To Use. Its Poorly Designed Due To No Leverage. Save Yourself Some Money and Buy Any Other PVC Cutter. I’ve Tried Many Different Kinds And This One Is The Worst.

Worth every penny when you need to deliver quality work without wasting time. These are ideal for classic car restorations and a thousand other jobs.
