Electronics Super Knips.
Precision pliers for ultra fine cutting work.
At a Glance:
The Knipex Electronic Super-Knips series of precision cutting pliers are ideal for all of your ultra-fine cutting needs. They are ideally sized for working in small spaces and are perfect for work with electronics and fine mechanics. Super Knips feature ground, very sharp, induction hardened cutting edges without bevel for flush cutting. They offer extremely smooth movement for minimum operator fatigue. Each Super-Knip features an opening spring and opening limiter along with a stainless steel rivet joint.
Precision shaped tips, opening spring.
Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long lasting. Because we don’t want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look.
The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8% carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this.
Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers.

They also cost more than any wire snips I’ve used. None the less it’s nice to be able to get in tight spaces and snip so easily. I had an older pair that was nearly as nice, and considerably cheaper, but I got a little out of control and asked them to do more than they could. These are more sturdily built and sharper. Thus the 5 stars. They are a very high quality build. That said, if I could have found another set of my last ones for 5 bucks like I bought them, I would have gotten several set of those instead. Just b/c I’m actually more reluctant to use these b/they are so nice. That may sound absurd, but I don’t want to buy another pair that costs this much and the 5 dollar ones from Italy seem to be made of unobtainium. They were nearly as good and considerably cheaper.

Okay, I did not buy these for me, but for my husband, an aircraft mechanic. He’s a busy man of few words and doesn’t take much time to write reviews, so I asked him how he liked his new KNIPEX 78 61 125 SBA Electronic Super-Knips Comfort Grip. Wicked, he said, I love them. They are comfortable. They work. They do the job they were meant to do. They make my life a lot easier. That’s a lot of words of praise coming from he who is the King of downplaying or minimizing. That’s all I know. I’m a painter. I like the way they look and I like when my husband is happy. He deserves the best tools, puts so much of his life into his job and shares his money freely. There is nothing like a really nice tool. For me it’s a paintbrush. For his it’s Super’Knips. Hope that helps. oh, btw, he’s also REALLY PICKY. He’s like a tool snob. He’s prone to Snap On but has started branching out. Very very picky re his tools, always talking about them, too. lol.

I build industrial electrical panels for packing house lines. I have used many flush cutters over the years but these are by far the best I have ever had. they cut zip ties perfectly smooth. cheaper ones leave razor sharp corners on them that will cut you to the bone. I also cut wire with them. up to 12 gauge cuts like butter. I wouldn’t try 10 gauge or bigger. Buy them, you won’t regret it. ken.G

These are probably overkill for my soldering projects, but dang it, they are nice to use. I did purchase a 3-pack of some cheaper snips that look almost exactly the same as these Knipex snips. However, the difference in quality is very apparent. For one, the cutting surfaces line up perfectly. Cuts are precise and exact, with no flex whatsoever. After cutting about a hundred solder joins, there’s absolutely no dings or other marks in the cutting surface. Again, probably overkill for my Arduino projects, but it feels like using a professional tool.

These are one of those tools that cause a little pain because of the high cost but ore than pay for themselves after heavy use. If you do a lot of electronics work at the board level and frequently cut leads, wires, and things like this then these cutters are fantastic. You need to know up front that the cutting jaws to not meet exactly flush. That’s the way they are designed and help to extend the life of the cutting edges and help the cutters to perform even better. There is a very slight overlap that shouldn’t be mistaken as a sign of poor quality. These are exceptionally sharp and fit perfectly in the hand making it easy to manipulate your work and hold the pliers at the same time. These are one of my favorite tools.

It is difficult to find small snips that don’t damage easily. There cutting edges are either to hard and snap or to soft and get damaged. These seem to have a good trade off

So far, the tool is excellent in terms of close up work and durability. Gets into places many other types of cutters can not

These are great for cutting zip ties and ONLY Zip ties/Plastic if you try to cut anything else these th will dull extremely Fast!!! They’re small enough to where they fit in a shirt pocket and the grip is highly maneuverable and can get in almost every tight space. Overall this is a great pair of flush cutters for zip ties
