The application range of the KNIPEX PreciStrip 16 is huge: Fine, flexible and solid cables can be stripped quickly and precisely using this insulation stripper. The capacity range extends from 0.08 to 16 mm². Thanks to a fine adjustment, this new tool can automatically strip cables within its large capacity range, even where conventional automatic devices often fail. The KNIPEX PreciStrip 16 insulation stripper can be readily adjusted with a dial for special materials or temperature requirements. Parabolic stripping blades ensure a precise cut. Semi-circular metal holding clamps ensure a perfect grip. The key component of this high-tech insulation stripper are the parabolic stripping blades that first cut the insulation of fine-stranded or solid round cables, then automatically strip it off backwards. The blade pair largely encloses the insulation and is thus suitable for many flexible materials.
A firm grip on all cable types
Semi-circular grooved holding clamps ensure a good grip and hold practically any insulation material securely in place. The KNIPEX PreciStrip 16 insulating stripper also features a cable cutter on top, which reliably cuts cables within a capacity range up to 16 mm². It has an adjustable length stop for accurate repeat work.

Fine adjustment for special insulation materials and variable temperatures
Many automatic insulation strippers fail when it comes to special materials such as very soft insulating materials or when working in extremely hot or cold conditions. To further expand the area of application of the KNIPEX PreciStrip16, it can be flexibly pre-adjusted for such special conditions by means of a dial with tactile detent positions.

The media could not be loaded. Excuse me, but I can’t get the wire cutter to work properly, I move the adjuster for the cable type but it doesn’t cut it, it cuts only once out of 10 times. I don’t know if my cable cutter that I don’t know how to use, oh it’s faulty or it’s my fault ..

In description says that it can fit up to #6 AWG, but in real life it can’t strip even #12 AWG solid wire. Wasted money. Maybe for low voltage wires it will be useful, like for #16-18 AWG

I’ve seen a lot of reviews on here about how cheap these are for knipex brand. These are cable strippers, there supposed to be light weight and there made from plastic for a reason. There no different than the cheap ones, the only reason some one buys these is to show your customers you can afford the good stuff lol! Overall they do a pretty good job for cable strippers. I buy these because my customers love seeing me use this brand, makes them think you are more professional at what you do. Your really buying a name not a product with these. My cheap ones lasted just as long and they do the same job. If you are judging off of quality and price pass these up there are better options out there for less money.

Bought this as a very expensive convenience after reading great reviews and watching a bunch of videos. I was super excited when it arrived and after fooling around with it for an hour I sadly came to the realization that it can not be adjusted tostrip stranded or solid 12 or 14g THHN wire, which is the only thing we use in the US. Nowhere in the description or reviews is this mentioned and it is a critical problem. Crazy that this is not highlighted or even mentioned.All this said, I own about 20 Knipex tools and they’re excellent, but this one is useless.Vendor is overseas, so return is not possible, so $100 completely down the drain. Any help Knipex?

Complete junk. The jaws don’t have enough grip to hold the wire in place as the other component pulls. 8awg fail 6awg and yes I have the adjustment +- all the way up. Will be returning today and I just opened them this morning.

The cheap pair of cable strippers I have are probably better than this. It is overall too expensive and not worth the money.

I tested these on a half a dozen wires and by the fifth wire the Jaws had bent. Luckily since it was so soon that it failed, I can return these and they won’t be failing me during a critical time I really need them. You can see in the photo the blades are contacting on top of each other this forces the grips at the front open unable to grab wire. In the photo, the front Jaws should be fully closed and the blades should be bottomed out against the mount of the opposing blade. This photo was taken off a brand new set, they sat on my desk for one week, so these went through no abuse. It is possible to force align the Jaws by pressing them to one side, I could probably jam a wedge between the Jaws and frame to force it where it needs to be but I’ll save those fixes for $15 wire strippers. I’ve heard better things about wiedmuller, Phoenix wirefox, or facom brands for a pair of premium wire strippers. I’m skeptical if these are knipex or counterfeit
