Quality in Every Detail

Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long-lasting. Because we don’t want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look.

The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this.

Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers.

I’ve been using these in the HVAC trade for four months now and I’m very pleased with them. Typically, I use these to pull wire leads off capacitors or other components during trouble shooting and preventive maintenance checks. I love the feel of the comfort gripe handles, they fit perfect in the hand, well least in mine. The bite of the pliers is exceptional, I’m confident that any terminal I grab hold of is going to release. I haven’t experienced slipping, or bending of the tips. Granted I’m not using these to remove screws or loosen bolts, other tools in my bag for that purpose. The 6 1/4 size is a good size for my trade, while I will admit there are those occasional times I wish I had the larger version, but I’ve always managed to make these work. These really excel when it comes to wiring up thermostats, and mini split wiring, love them.If you don’t have any Knipex tools in your box or bag and your wondering about the quality like I initially was…well yo

I’ve got a collection of tools, inherited and bought over my lifetime. What I was looking for was a pair of good clean comfortable well made pliers for electronics work – when I need bigger than my tweezers or micro-shears, but not my bigger side-cutters etc. These (the 6.25″) are them – perfect fit in my hand, doesn’t feel like I’ll have to “break them in,” they Just Work. They’ll seldom go outside, so I can’t comment on how rust-proof they are. I’ll presume they’ll fend off the splashes, and unless forgotten I tend to bring tools in to dry and oil when that happens.A little pricey, but highly recommended!

These little pliers have a place in my kitchen drawer, where the get lots of use fixing cabinets, wiring electrics, thermostats, and my stereo; bending back sharp spikes on cans; making plant holders; and many other tasks. I like them better than equivalent sears and channel lock pliers. This small tool has a cushioned, insulated handle to prevent shocks or sore palms. The ergonomic handle keeps your knuckles from being skinned, if the pliers slip off a hard surface. Their bright silver metal finish has resisted corrosion in a hostile indoor environment. and the small size is perfect to put in a drawer. Is this overkill for an indoor tool? I don’t expect to ever need to replace them, and i’m glad to have good tools at hand.Helpful Hint: These pliers can be purchased cheaper with dipped handles, if you are on a budget.

Best needle nose pliers I’ve ever owned.

It is expensive compared to other brands but the quality in craftsmanship and the warranty make it worth while. Have used it almost everyday since it arrived

Nice pair of needle nose pliers. Tips match and cutter is sharp. I would prefer a little better finish but they are going into my toolbox and wouldn’t stay pretty.

Formerly a fuel farm mechanic, and diesel mechanic, now make a living doing appliance repair work, and I have owned many pairs of needle nose pliers. We all know the cheap pliers go loose after a tough application. While, yes, they are fairly expensive but are 100% worth the price. They spread nicely (even though that is kinda unnecessary for their application, to be honest) and they certainly maintain their integrity.I have put mine through the ringer and they still grip very well; not to mention, they still meet up perfectly with no play at all in the jaws grip.I will be very sad when I finally do over-work then and break them (if this is even possible) but I will definitely not hesitate to pick up another pair of these. Prefer them over my Irwin of the same size. Go knipex!! You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve used a pair of Craftsman Professional Series 6″ long nose pliers for about 20 years. I wanted 2 more pairs of quality pliers for different tool pouches, so bought these and the 1000v version. Note, both pliers are crafted the same but w/different grips. The Knipex are nice, cut wire slightly cleaner than the Craftsman (the difference is almost negligible) and seem to be tough. That said, I like the Craftsman better and wish they still made them like they used to. The Craftsman are just tougher pliers with impeccable craftsmanship that lend to a feeling of strength and precision. I use long nose pliers not just for electrical work but also to pull fasteners such as staples, finishing nails, cable clamps and whatever else I may only be able to grip w/long nose pliers. One thing w/the Knipex is the jaws can twist/separate when trying to roll out embedded finishing nails, something I don’t experience w/the Craftsmen Pros. Simply put, the old Craftsmen Pros are better. Also, the grip on the Craftsman are thin, textured rubber making them to work with. The Knipex are good pliers and maybe the best by today’s standards. Too bad standards have been downgraded and today’s best is inferior to yesterday’s standard.
