Comfort grip high leverage diagonal cutters require 21% less effort. The comfort grip is made of two color dual component to provide a comfortable handle for continued use. The high cutting performance is due to optimum co-ordination of the cutting edge angle, transmission ratio and the ergonomically handle shape. The precision cutting edges are induction hardened to approximately 64 HRC and will cut medium hard wire up to 4.2 mm; hard wire up to 3.0 mm and piano wire with maximum 2.5 mm diameter. The forged-on axle offers a high level of stability for heavy use and long service life.
High Leverage Diagonal Cutter.
20% reduction of hand force due to high leverage power joint.
At a Glance:
Knipex high-leverage diagonal cutters are ideal for tough, continuous use. They are easy to use and offer a high-leverage axel design. This design provides a 20 percent reduction in required force compared to conventional cutters of the same length for reduced fatigue. They feature optimum coordination of the cutting edge angle, transmission ratio, and ergonomic handle shape, and they easily cut nails and all types of wire with high-performance precision.
Forged from oil-hardened chrome vanadium steel, our diagonal cutters are built to last. The rivet of our high-leverage diagonal cutters has to stand up to a lot of stress. That’s why we literally give it backup: we forge it straight onto the pliers. This means extra effort as we have to precision mill the rivet to a few hundredth millimeters. But our satisfied users are worth this effort. The fixed forged axle rivet joint assures continuous smooth operation with no weakening or wobbling effect over time. The precision matched, induction-hardened cutting edges cut a wide range of materials — from soft copper and aluminum to hardened materials like nails, piano wire, or ACSR wire without changing tools or damaging the cutting edges.
Suitable for all types of wire.
Sometimes we give our pliers a really hard time. We try to destroy them to find out what makes them good and long-lasting. Because we don’t want to leave anything to chance, we take a long, careful look.
The steel Knipex uses is precisely hardened with a maximum of 0.8 percent carbon and defined parts of chromium and vanadium, guaranteeing optimum cutting performance and service life — even though it requires special production and costs a bit more. But our high product demands require this.
Knipex also looks closely at the small details. The angles, the sharpness, the hardness, the toughness of the cutting edges. The precision and smooth movement of the joint. The handle design and the finish. We keep reviewing these subjects, we research, we test, and we improve our pliers.

This purchase moves my 20-years old pair of Klein 8-in Lineman’s into active reserve status. It took about ten of those years to loosen up the joint enough to consider the action smooth. They were very tight. These pliers, out of the box, have a very smooth action. The joint has been oozing some tool oil, so it looks like the joint itself was lubricated from the factory, which may have some influence on that effect. I don’t mean to imply that the joint feels loose. Quite the opposite. Just that it’s smooth.I chose these, as opposed to one of the many other styles of cutting pliers in the Knipex catalog, because I was hoping for a tough, durable set of cutters that would be as effective as cutting up to 8 AWG copper wire as the Klein’s in a slightly smaller and lighter package. I have only had these for about a month of regular use, but so far they exceed what I was expecting, even considering the price. They feel tough, at the same time light and agile, and they cut supremely well. The business end was clearly manufactured to precision tolerances and with properly treated steel.I have had another set of Knipex pliers with this composite grip for a bit longer than these, but in no way anything that can be considered a “long term”. Most tools I’ve purchased with a “comfort grip” are not positively attached to the handle, and eventually start sliding off. Now to be fair I haven’t really tried tugging on these, but when they’re loose they’re loose and you know it right away. I get the impression I will not be having to worry about these sliding about.Judging by the standard of “if these were stolen from you today would you replace them tomorrow” my answer after having them this short time is definitely yes, and so I give these cutters five stars.

When it comes to wire, these flush cutters pack a powerful punch in a small, comfortable package. I was working on the underside of a deck that had numerous staples through it that were way too long for the application. Not only were the staples in the way, but it also only takes just a couple of them stabbing you in the head to get a real distaste for them. I had a pair of red handle Klein flush cutters that worked until i noticed i had completely chewed up the cutting surface – making them essentially useless for everything else. When i went on amazon to get another pair, I looked for another flush cutter that might be able to handle the hardness of the staple, but be easier to manage than a set of nippers.I found these, and immediately saw all the different sizes and wondered if i needed the biggest ones or would one of the smaller pairs work. After reading reviews, i landed on these and i do not regret buying them at all. Not only are they incredibly ergonom

These are awesome, as you would expect from Knipex. The thing is they don’t spring open to make the next cut, you have to pull them open by hand-gymnastics, curling a finger under to spread them open, then back around to apply full cutting force. Every other pair of diagonal cutters I’ve ever owned (quite a few) have had a spring such that they open up by themselves to accept the next cut. So these feel weird. Maybe I’ll get used to it, but I have a pair of (much larger) Klein electrician’s cutter/crimpers that are like this and I’ve never liked their hand-feel. Anyway, this size doesn’t have a spring option so I guess we’ll just have to see how they settle in.

It always make me laugh when people raise their eyebrows when they ask how much I pay for my tools. For this pair of High Level Angle Cutters, they are worth every penny. When used for their intended tasks (and even some unintended use/abuse) these will last you decades for a tradesman and a lifetime for a hobbiest. If you tend to leave your tools out in the rain or at the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket in a pile, then the perceived value likely won’t be there and you will be more happy with a disposable brand of tool.Using a tool like this gives you the satisfaction and outcome of using a well engineered tool made out of premium materials for a result like the guys on tv and YouTube seem to get.I never hesitate buying the Knipex brand. I have never had a bad experience with any of their products and I own many of them. With the reduced cost of purchasing them through Amazon it really makes for professional level tools realistically priced for the average garage wa

Have used this tool to cut things way bigger than you should be cutting. Tool has zero signs of wear on the cutters and still works as good as new. Feels great in hand and performs flawlessly. Buy this and you’ll never have to buy another pair.

This is a great tough nipper / cutter but I expected that. Price was good but nothing to shout about – hence, 4 Stars for value. I use this pair for tougher / hardened wire cutting. Because of the heftier cutting blades they don’t cut flush so need to file down the exposed end bit after cutting if you need a flush cut. I have some great nippers that will cut almost totally flush but their cutting blades will break if used on hardened wire.

I was skeptical at the quality at first because of the high price, but took a chance and bought them. Glad I did, because they are very well made and cut wires cleanly. I keep these in my desk so no one else can use them….I don’t want anyone to screw these up! Expensive, but the best cutters I’ve ever owned!

Only giving four stars a big fan of Knipex I have five of their channel locks I purchased these because I got a lot of stainless steel cotter pins and to my surprise these did not work any better than some of the cheaper brands .
