The main thing that sets this apart from the others is the rail the blade sits in. The lower switch on the handle controls the rail so it can be adjusted independently of the blade. This allows you to raise the rail up to give the blade additional support when using it. Even if you usually don’t like using this style of a knife I would recommend trying this product – you may change your mind!

It’s a great cutter! Knipex quality as always! Only hiccup I had was replacement blades even though it came with 2. It takes 18mm snap off blades, fyi. I just bought a 50pack of that size and they work just fine.

Fine knife so far. This version ships with German branded snap-off blades instead of the Japanese blades, but I’m guessing they’re still interchangeable.Knife body clamshell is clipped together at the knife-edge-end (instead of a fastener), and there is already a little bit of play between the two halves. Not enough to effect the function of the knife, but a bit sloppy nonetheless.This is one of those Knipex “German Engineering” stamped tools, which means it is not made in Germany.
