At a time when fountain pens are becoming less common, the Kaweco Fountain Pen is an excellent instrument and the ink cartridges are excellent! This is definitely a suitable gift and the cartridges arrived in about 5 days, though they had been promised 3-4 weeks away.

I have two Kaweco Sport Classic fountain pens, and bought six five pack cartridge boxes. Now, three or four months later, using these as my primary pens, I unscrew the nib to look at the ink quantity remaining and am amazed they remain almost full. This is very efficient ink, and there is no compromise in the quality of writing as any sort of trade-off to the efficiency.The Kaweco Sport is delightful to use – you can clip it to your shirt pocket or toss it in your jeans pocket with no fear of leaking. I don’t think there is any better ink available.I keep my day to day records and notes in a journal using lined craft paper. This pen and ink are perfect for that, and will make you happy for every opportunity you have to write.

Fits well in my Kaweco sport, and I have had no issues with the ink whatsoever. Just remember to clean the nib when changing the ink.

My cartridges arrived quickly and they were not in the regular Kaweco boxes, but that’s okay. However, before I even touched them it was clear that they had leaked all over their containers. Most of the cartridges are leaky and get all over my belongings. I would like to continue buying from Kaweco, but I just don’t think I can if they always leak this much. I didn’t even puncture them for this to happen.Kaweco makes great stuff, and these are good except for the leaking.

All the boxes were a little soft & damp feeling when I first opened the bag. We opened the first box and got in all over. One of the cartridges had leaked out completely.We opened all the rest of the boxes but that was the only one that leaked so we just cleaned everything up and threw out the empty one.The ink works fine in the pen, but it is rather disappointing and a pain to need to clean everything.

There’s pro’s and con’s about these cartridges. The main selling point is that it’s plug and play and that it works easily. No need to clean just simply plug. However, the drawbacks are that it gets expensive and the quality of the ink is subpar compared to other competitors. For the price of this you can buy a small ink bottle and a Kaweco Mini Fountain Pen Converter but the downside to that is having to manually refill the cartridge but it’s worth having due to the quality of ink. So, in the end I would recommend these preroll cartridges if you need to change ink in a hurry but I would recommend using your own ink and refilling them up as they take less than 5 minutes and you can get really creative with the ink choice available in the market.
