First, this pen is beautiful: the picture on Amazon’s screen-shot doesn’t do it justice because the Iridescence that makes it special does not come across on my screen.I already have several Kaweco pens. I carried the Sport version in my pocket for nearly a year: with its threads first chased with silicone grease and the ink poured into its reservoir, it didn’t leak a drop when I carried it in my pocket on a round-trip flight between the Mainland and Hawaii. And it has always written reliably.This model weighs 11 grams yet it can survive being carried daily in a jeans pocket. I measured the length (including the finial) at 10.5mm closed and about 13mm posted.Finally, it comes with a cartridge of Royal Blue ink, not Blue, as it was sometimes listed on Amazon.

I bought this pen because it was gorgeous in photos. I get it, and it’s even more gorgeous in person! I was kinda sad that I didn’t have a converter that fit (these require a much smaller converter that Kaweco sells due to the barrel’s short size), but I had read online that you can eyedropper fill these if you use silicone grease on the threads (please watch a video before attempting). I was worried that it wouldn’t look nice because the ink I intended to eyedropper it with is Diamine’s “Writer’s Blood,” which is a gorgeous burgundy red. The only thing it did was make the blue stand out more and the pink less. It still looks beautiful and iridescent, and now it holds much more ink. I have quite a few different fountain pens, some of which are eyedropper, but this is by far my favorite one. However, I must recommend that if you wanted to use a shimmer ink, use a clear fountain pen instead. The shimmer tends to settle and you wouldn’t be able to see that with this pen. But for regular ink: GO FOR IT!!

I do love this pen. Please note, the one that arrived in my order is absolutely not as colorful as the one in the picture. In fact it is very very pale, more like a smokey pale grey with the odd catch of color in the right light. It is still a beautiful pen but I will need to buy a replacement nib as the one it arrived with is to rough to use and this pen is not writing as smooth as my other Kaweco pens.Beautiful enough to keep and just get a new nib.
