The Hurtta story began with our personal need and desire to protect our dogs from the cold and ever-changing, extreme conditions of the North.

We are from Finland, ”The wild North,” a place known for its pure and exotic nature and unrelenting winters. Originally, we were clothing industry professionals, and we were determined to make functional products for our own dogs while also developing a range of functional dog gear globally.

We’re no strangers to the parks, trails, and training fields that dogs and their owners frequent every day. Our expertise stems from our extensive apparel industry and design experience and the bonds we have forged with other caring dog owners, dog trainers, and dog sport professionals worldwide.

Our love for dogs and our 20-year history are evident in everything we do. We’re always exploring and experimenting, working and reworking, testing and retesting – until our dogs let us know that we got it right.

The product looks nice and works well in LIGHT rain. It also offers good coverage on the dog. However, I am more disappointed than I am pleased with the product.1) The way you have to put it on (from underneath) is a pain, and the button snaps are not easy to clasp together. Something like small buckles would be much easier to operate.2) I just took the dogs for a walk in a moderate rain (not light, not heavy) for approximately 20 minutes. When I unzipped the jacket I was not happy to see that water had leaked in all along the seam of the zipper. These aren’t good for anything but very light rain.I can live with the not-so-easy method of putting the jacket on, but for the price I expect something waterproof. Huge letdown and disappointed I took a risk on this brand.

If you have a poodle (or I suppose any thick haired curly beast!) this suit is fantastic for avoiding snowball cling and mud baths. I keep my dog in a longer coat during our cold winters, which is very helpful except for when things begin to warm up to near 32! There’s a certain time of year when the snow is warm and the dog park is going muddy. It makes it really hard to enjoy a long romps outside without being locked in a room to melt, or taking on a near full bath afterwards . This suit is fantastic! Easy on easy off if your dog has basic manners. Everything stays clean and dry except for a small part of his belly, and his paws. Moshers secret can take care of the paws. The only downside is the expense, but over the life of my dog I have no doubt this is worth it as we spend much time outside daily, and snowshoeing, skiing or hikes on weekends. Beautifully made, highly adjustable. I really don’t think you can find anything with a better quality. I wound u

The media could not be loaded. I have a Wheaten that loves the snow, but I hate all the snowballs that form in his coat, the suit works very well, covering the majority of his body.A little timely putting it on the first couple times and also a little pricey, but well worth it considering the alternative of melting all the snowballs off.My Wheaten is about 36#, I ordered a 50M /20M and there is plenty of room for him.

I bought two of these as my dog is hard to size. Neither was waterproof. What a waste of money. I thought spending more would get me a better product. Nope!

I did all the measurements as instructed, and he is much longer than he is thick around chest and neck. So, we ordered the size for the length and with all of the pull cords to tighten around the chest, it worked great for our first real winter hike. He had a fleece jacket under it for warmth and a pack over it, both worked great. He had none of his usual snowball buildup on his belly or legs. He was able to pee, and again, thanks to the inner adjustment cords, he did not pee into or all over the suit. I had read that this suit is a little louder than the slush suit but we did not notice any rubbing soundsOver all a great product. We had looked at the combat slush suit but could not get one that fit.

I’m honestly pretty disappointed with my first purchase from hurtta. I’ve heard nothing but great things and how much better they are in comparison to ruffwear. I ordered a 24” based off the sizing chart saying the length measurements are one of the most important. My dogs 25-26” long from his wither to his tail so I was technically ordering shorter than what they reccomend but was also worried because all the other measurements for the 24” were off. When I received it and put it on him he was swimming in it to the point that if it was windy I have no doubt the wind would have picked up the back end and water would have gotten on him. Also the belly area was covering his privates so had we actually worn it out he would have peed on the inside of his jacket instead of the ground. The length of the sleeves are too long and even when snapping it together his feet slip up into the sleeve and he trips himself.Update: I tried selling this jacket because I didn

First time I put this on my dog, the button on the collar broke (see photos). Fiunding a coat for a large breed dog is tough, so I researched this forever and thought this was a high-quality item, which is why I paid the high price of $120 for a dog’s raincoat. With the broken piece I had to return it and was at first annoyed about paying to return a defective item. Fortunately the seller, Baxter Boo, made it right and sent me a prepaid shipping label and fully refunded. Seems like a thoughtful quality seller but unfortunately the manufacturer’s product didn’t hold up. Maybe I just got unlucky with a dud, I dunno but I;d hope for higher QC out of Hurtta. I’ll look elsewhere – the search continues.

WOW! This raincoat is fantastic! I ordered size 24 for my 78lb golden and size 26 for the 86lb golden. Their length was the same (24”) but the bigger one is a bit more muscular, so I figured I’d get him a bigger size and I’m glad I did. The fit for both was perfect. The company’s recommended size would have been too small, definitely measure. The construction of these raincoats is beyond compare to the cheap ones I’ve purchased in the past. I compare it to my NorthFace raincoat. Same materials and reinforced seams! Great quality all around. I read another review where someone’s snaps broke so I’m mindful to be careful when unsnapping them. The dogs were dry and clean. Their feet were wet and dirty but the rest of them was protected. I could probably fit their fleece jacket under it if it was really cold, as these are more like a shell raincoat, no lining. These jackets “sweat” just like my NorthFace. I think it’s because they’re sealed up rea

This coat fits my 15lb Pappilon perfectly, as if it was custom made for him – perfect pant length, distance between front and back legs, chest. I got him a 14S. It keeps him dry and is a good windbreaker. What I love most about this coat/jumpsuit is that it keeps his belly from getting muddy and doesn’t restrict his movement. Because the back legs have pants, the coat doesn’t slide or ride up. It covers the chest, the lower belly is still open, so the dog can still do to the bathroom wearing it. Most dogs’ rain coats have hoods, which are pointless, this funnel collar is so much better and has a cord to adjust the fit and make it snug. 100% recommend this.

I loved the quality of this raincoat, there’s no doubt it’d keep her dry and warm. I wish the drawstrings inside were easier to cinch, and that the elastic drawstrings had been longer into the thigh area. I had the back legs tightened to the max, but it still had too much room in the thigh for her so she kept stepping out even with the adjustable ankle snaps. The waist, chest, neck and front paw drawstrings were all ok. She’s 14″ long, her tail coverage was just right, but she’s very skinny with thin long legs. A difficult furbaby to fit, but we loved the quality of the jacket and would’ve kept it if the thighs had been a bit more cinchable. There are some other styles by this brand that I’d love to try now where the back legs are free instead of pants. I just really love the extra protection from rain and bugs that pants provide.
