I bought four of these. Two had to be returned, hence the four stars. The combinations would not set. They were jammed right out of the box. (One was totally jammed and would not unlock, the other would open on any combination no matter what you set.) Other than that, I like this lightweight lock for situations where I can maintain visual contact with the bike, or places like Burning Man where you only need a deterrent. They are easy to carry and stow on the bike. I keep mine on the seat rails. Plus they are combos, so you won’t lose the key. Note that the combo numbers are teeny and may be difficult for some to read without glasses and daylight.

Other than the fact the lock had some “wear and tear” on it, I’m happy with it.

Great little lock. I use it for my Ski and bike. Perfect when you have to make a quick run into the store.

Worked so far. I use these for my Thule kayak stackers. I choose to leave them on and these locks will deter those that DON’T have a bolt cutter. LOL

I thought this ws going to be perfect because of the convenience, the weight, and the price. The price is where I was a fool. It works like a zip tie. A metal tooth catches a void on the strap and should lock in place. It worked the first time, but now no matter where the combo is, the lock easily releases and sometimes does not hold if I pull lightly. Its a deterrent if nobody touches it.

Fits inside my riding jacket pocket and I use the handelbars between my risers to attach this to and lock up my helmet. Works really well.

I could not get it to unlock using the factory set combo. I emailed Hiplok and they responded quickly but it still would not open. I returned it to Amazon. It seems like a great lock but I need to use it to be sure.

The wheels are really tiny, so are the numbers on it, which makes it hard to use. Worse, the wheels do not have limiters on them, so as you scroll through the numbers, there is no hard “click”. Because it is smooth scrolling, this means you can easily have your wheels slightly misaligned and it won’t unlock. Combining the tiny wheels, tiny numbers, and smooth scrolling, it’s a slow, temperamental and frustrating lock to use. I was using this as a ski lock, so I couldn’t use with gloves in the cold weather. This frustration is amplified because you need to have your code dialed-in to both unlock AND lock it.But why you should really avoid this lock? It’s not secure! Since the wheels are smooth scrolling, if you slowly turn them you can feel resistance when you get to your lock code. If I close my eyes and feel the wheel resistance as I turn, I can reliably land on my lock code and open it.
