With our PolyX Breaker, we bring our car expertise to the bicycle tire segment: Polyester has been used successfully for years in car tires and been tried and tested many times. The extremely resistant polyester fibre is woven tightly crosswise. In this way, a very high fabric density is reached which not only makes the Breaker more resistant to foreign objects but is also especially resistant to punctures. The rolling resistance is also not negatively affected by the PolyX Breaker.

I have used 700×28 Continental Grand Prix 4000 or 5000 tires for years on my road bike and they fit with plenty of clearance. These All Rounder 700×28 tires are much wider and left only 1mm clearance on my chainstays. They rubbed when climbing. I replaced them with GP5000 700×28 tires and there is over 3mm clearance.

I’ve been building triathlon bikes for over 20 years. These are on my own bike. I can’t say I notice any difference riding these than my C 5000’s. The 5000 tires are terrific, fast, I like them. I’ve also had 3 of them flat and one split when I hit a rock. I’m a triathlete, not a TDF guy with a support crew. The rolling resistance is almost identical to my 5000’s according to the power meter. I would gladly add a few grams of weight for the added protection. Continental hit a home run with these tires. The 25mm tires are also a good match for the 25mm HED wheels. I rode them on some moist road this morning at a decent 20 mph clip and never felt any slippage.
