Both of these one cup infusers are first rate, and reviews reflect that. But which is best for you? Is steeping convenience and easy cleanup most important, or do you prefer an infuser with gleaming industrial design that’s a countertop showpiece? The Finum and Oxo both have their advantages. Read on to learn more:We’ve had all sorts of single cup infusers over the years, all with small annoyances. Recently, I came across the Oxo and was initially very pleased, believing it to be the best single cup infuser I’d ever found. As tea infusers go, it’s stunningly beautiful, Museum of Modern Art worthy, and its solid metal weave is tight so no tea grounds find their way into the tea. The Oxo sits confidently on any sized cup, and most importantly keeps my fingers from getting burned. But a week after getting the Oxo, I began to realize my sculptural gem had a growing issue for me. When shaking out the loose tea leaves, then rinsing under the faucet, a couple of leav

I hated cleaning my French Press. I was under the assumption that the PRESS was somehow responsible for magically “pressing” more coffee flavor out of the coffee grounds. Then one day, I read that the “press” part just keeps the grounds out of the coffee and doesn’t make a difference to the flavor.I decided to test that theory. I put the coffee grounds in a reusable single serve k-cup I happened to have and put the k-cup in a glass container to steep. Sure enough, the coffee was suitably mild and smooth for my taste. It was a little milder than in the French Press, but I just let it steep a little longer. However, the single serve reusable k-cup didn’t work for me because I typically drink 3 cups of coffee and I did not want to make coffee three times. Once was enough. What I wanted was a larger k-cup type apparatus. I found this Finum Floating Brew Basket on Amazon and tried it.Happily, this Floating Brewing Basket works better for me than the French Press or the single serve k-cup with the hinged lid. The Floating Brewing Basket is easier to remove from the container and easier to clean. The Floating Brewing Basket does actually float which makes it easy to remove when I am finished steeping the grounds. The lid comes off easily when you pull it off. The Floating Brew Basket can be used in any suitably sized glass container – no special bulky single purpose equipment – like a coffee maker – is needed. My coffee taste buds may not be as refined as yours! For example, I can not tell the difference between the French Press coffee I make by quickly pouring the water onto the coffee grounds in the French Press and the coffee I made following the French Press “bloom” method. (Slowly pouring the 195 degree water in circles over and over until the coffee “blooms”.) I also don’t bother grinding my own coffee . I don’t even boil the water – I just use the 195 degree water from my InstaHot device. To get the flavor I want, I just steep the coffee a little longer.I am happy I found this Finum Floating Brewing Basket!

This is a great strainer. The extra fine mesh does a fantastic job of keeping tea leaves out of my tea.I will say – it’s a tad difficult to clean (hence why I gave it 3/5 stars for “easy to clean”). No matter how well I try to rinse this, there always seems to be a couple of pieces of loose leaves stuck to the bottom. That doesn’t particularly bother me but if you’re a neat freak you may get annoyed by that.Personally, I don’t think the lid is all that useful (in fact, I threw it away because I didn’t see myself using it at all and didn’t want it to collect dust in a cabinet drawer). Unlike what other reviewers stated, it does in fact fit properly over the top of the strainer but I just like to actually watch my tea bloom as it steeps so it’s useless to me.Another thing to add – I’m a big mug kind of lady (like Gilmore Girls coffee mugs kinda big). This is definitely meant to fit over standard coffee mugs but for larger mugs (I’d say ones that are over 12oz), you might need to play with getting the strainer to balance over the top of the mug just right (but it’ll work). Will definitely be buying more of these to gift to others.

I purchased this tea infuser based on reviews, and it being listed as the top tea infuser on a website. It does exactly what I wanted it to do. Not a single tea leaf has leaked out since I started using it! It’s a good size, can hold a lot of loose tea and the flavor is great. And very easy to clean. Also, has a handy little cap you can place the infuser on or use to keep warm It was expensive. I could’ve spent five dollars to seven dollars on something else, but I think it was worth the price. Looks like it will last me. I’m thrilled with it. Will probably purchase another.

Purchased 2 Large Floating Baskets , grandma and I make our Loose Leaf teas with those . We boil our water , then let the basket for 15 mins inside the pan ( no damage at all on it due to the heat and makes it easier for us )

I have been using a tea infuser for years but hated using it because the mesh was not fine enough and I always ended up with lots of stuff in my tea to the point I couldn’t drinik the last little bit without also eating all the debris left over. This infuser has solved all of that. Not one piece of tea leaves got through to my tea. Super happy with it.

good price, durable, and easy to clean most of the time. Herbal teas with little particles can be harder to clean out (chamomile for example) but for regular tea it’s great and even for that it’s pretty damn good.

I have been looking for an infuser that I can use in my 1/2 quart container. This fits the bill perfectly.

Extremely convenient and easy to use/clean. Better than my other German made tea ball made of fine mesh as it doesn’t let tiny pieces escape into the tea.
