I love this particular size hand sanding block for all but the largest items I am sanding. For anything large, I use this blocks larger cousin to achieve the results I need (Festool 496963 115mm X 226mm Hand Sanding Block). I recommend the Festool 495019 Hose HSK D21.5 5m, when using any Festool hand sanding block that has the dust extraction capability, as they are much lighter and more flexible than the Festool green 27m anti-static hose.

This works well to contain dust and the festool sheets of sandpaper are very nice. for hand-sanding and if you own one of their vacuums, this is an easy buy.

Perfect sanding block and paper for drywall sanding applications. Dust was kept to an absolute minimum since it’s drawn through the block into your vacuum source. Wish I found this years ago. Well worth the money!

I have the Festool Domino, two sanders, the jigsaw, Trac saw, CT15 vacuum, but this will be returned. I use my 400 sander sandpaper and when hooked up to my ct15 vacuum, I can’t move it. Even on the lowest setting for my vacuum the hand sander can barely move on flat surfaces because it gets sucked to the material. When I sand flat edges under 2 3/4″ then this is effective. I was hoping to have a hand sander that is almost dustproof like their sanders, but unfortunately it is pointless for me when trying to sand panels by hand with this hand sander. This is the first Festool product I won’t recommend.

Great for small jobs, although I used it for a ceiling and parts of a wall. Note this is not a powered hand sanding block. Wish I had the ceiling sanders but anyhow the job is now done and looks great. Attaching to HEPA vacuum eliminates dust and removes particles that can clog the sand paper. It uses the same pads as the Festool LS 130 sander. The fine adjustment for the vacuum level (suction) on the CT MINI Vacuum is great as you can dial in the proper suction to allow for optimum dust collection and sliding friction for different materials. Great thing to have in the toolbox, or in your systainer. There are other options out there but you know the hose matches up for the Festool line and it fits into your beautiful Festool fanboy (or girl) line-up.

Overall keeps the dust way down compared to other hand sanding. I’m just not sure the price is reasonable, even for Festool.
