Awesome, I purchased this set at a steal ($305) the item was brand new and all markers worked. This is my 2nd copic set and I must say I’m absolutely in love. After I make some great art I’ll post some pics.Edit: I’ve uploaded some more pics, the happy birthday piece started out as a card then turned into an 8×11 big art card lol. You will need some good paper for copics. I use cardstock. Either hammermill or the blend it express paper. I’m hooked on copics. All colors use to make these pieces came from set B.

These markers are amazing. Seriously, amazing. As you receive them – ensure you take off both ends of the marker so that the pressure built up from shipment is released. If you don’t do this you’ll have that pressure release onto the page you are coloring. Trust me, it will only happen once before you wish you would have taken note of this bit of information. 😉

I bought my first set of Copics just over a year ago and they are my favorite medium, bar none. I now have all the colors and I use them all the time. They have a bit of a learning curve but there are free videos abound to teach you how to use them which is how I learned. They are expensive but truly worth every penny to me. This was the first large set I ordered, the rest were obtained from other websites and one marker at a time from craft stores using coupons. If you are willing to make the investment these are the best alcohol markers and since you can buy refills they are a good investment. The only downside I can find to these (besides the price) is the lightfastness. They are not rated and will probably fade in sunlight or possibly diminish in brightness over time. It is probably best to color copy your works to display them on a wall.

While these are expensive, they work phenomenally. However, one thing that should be mentioned in some sort of getting started guide is that you should open up BOTH ends before putting them to paper as changes in pressure can cause the ink to pool at one end.

Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY from retail stores, you will easily pay TWICE the price on Amazon, which has the cheapest price, unless you want to try your luck on EBay. Art stores will charge 9.00 per pen separately, and up to 700 – 900 dollars for this 72 piece set you see here. When factored out you can get these pens through Amazon in this set for only $4.65 per pen, that is a huge difference. But, remember its an investment. Don’t get these to just see if you like drawing with markers, but something cheap like SUPERMARKERS first to see if you like drawing this way, Copic is a large investment, I already own sets A B and C and that’s almost a grand right there.

Its pricey. We all know that. Is it worth it? Hell yeah. There is just no comparison to anything else. I have two of the 72 sets now and saving for a 3rd. Eventually I will get them all because I have “complete set syndrome” and they will be well worth it. I’m not too sure that I would HIGHLY reccomend a 72 set to beginners only because of price and they take a little bit of time to master, but I would definitely recommend a smaller 6,12, or 24 set to start with to see if you love them as much as I do. The smallest sets can be found at Michael’s and Hobby Lobby and you can even use their coupons on it(typically 40% off) to compare to Amazon if you need instant gratification.

Ordered this set and the first time it came the plastic case that the pens were in was cracked. Amazon was nice enough to replace the set. Next set that came also had the plastic case shattered. It’s no surprise as the pens are shipped with hardly any padding. I would try and get it replaced but it just seems like the same thing would happen again. It’s a minor thing, it doesn’t effect the quality of the pens, but when you spend a lot of money on something like this. you’d like to actually be satisfied and have a way to store them.

The markers appear to be authentic Copic markers which are top of the line. They are worth the price. However, we were extremely disappointed to see that the storage case was broken quite badly. It wasn’t packed with any padding or bubble wrap, and it was in a rather large box, so damage was inevitable. Hopefully in the future Amazon will take the usual amount if care in packaging what they sell to ensure safe arrival.

I was excited to finally it a set of copics they arrived today and when I took out of Amazon box this is what I found the hard case to store these markers in is all busted up? That is very upsetting my first set of expensive markers and the hard case is busted up? Not happy about that!! If it was just a crack I could live with it but both ends one more than the other is busted to pieces? How do we fix this Amazon??

You can’t beat these. I only wish it had a fine tip/pen instead of a chisel. I’ve tried Ohuhu and they either bleed too much/too much ink comes out or the color is very off from the color on the cap. I didn’t care for that at all. The colors were darker/more saturated. Copics are true to color (more natural) and they don’t bleed much, you also get a better range in colors and shades with Copic. They aren’t clunky either like Ohuhu. Costly, but definitely worth it. If you can, do the monthly by Amazon if offered.
