The Continental Ultra Sport III Road Tire is an excellent choice for anyone looking to replace or upgrade their stock tires to a name-brand, midrange performing option. 180 tpi and excellent puncture protection as well as good grip properties make this a great tire its value. The Puregrip Compound is highly durable, long lasting, and performs great on or off road.

Three rides, three flats in less than 120 miles. I ride DMV trails that are well kept. These tires are soft as butter and will nick, puncture, and blow out on minor bumps. Easily the worst tires I’ve been on. So very disappointed in these. If I could find a way to get my money back it would.

Overall a very reponsive tire despite the size (700×28), ride quality improved over standard sizing. Good traction in wet and acceptable traction on packed gravel walking/biking trail. Compound seems super soft but seems to wearing ok for now, (350 miles so far) Great for now but only time will tell. Good value for the money

I am a Continental tire fan for my bikes. I like these tires for their quality, on my training rides. I rarely get flats, maybe once every couple of years and I ride 4-5K miles a year. I have used more expensive models of Continental tires and they are great as well, and I buy them if I find a good sale price at the end of the season, but these are my go to tires for a reasonable price. These measure slightly narrower then the 5000’s when mounted and do not ride quite as plushly but are very solid tires. Their sidewalls are a bit heavier which contributes to the slightly harsher ride. This is not something many folks will notice unless you ride another tire and immediately change to these and ride them. These tires are reasonably light weight as well and roll very well. I will buy these again.

I finally replaced my 10-year-old Continentals that came with my bike. Only about 3000mi in that time since I gave it up for years. No issues with those. I just put these on with new Continental tubes. Way overdue!! These feel really nice. I also went from 23mm to 25 so I’m sure that’s part of it.These were almost impossible to install. I had trouble getting the last ~10″ of bead on. Instead of getting frustrated and breaking something like I usually do, I just kept at it and finally got them on.

I got these to upgrade from 25mm to 28mm wide tires. I wasn’t looking to spend a lot of money and these fit the bill. They are nice tires. Fit on the rims easily and look great. I’ve only given them one ride so far that was about 20 miles, but the grip is great, ride is smooth, and the tread seems to have held up well with barely any wear at all (what I would expect from only 20 miles of use). I was told Gator skins were the only way to go but these seem fine to me, especially when I can replace both tires for the price of 1 gator skin.

I originally had wanted to order the Gatorskins, but got these instead. Honestly I cannot tell the difference and so far they are proving to be great tires for my Specialized Robaix.

After just installing and inflating these appear narrow compared to the Ultra II. They did not stretch after a few hundreds miles and the 25mm are about 24.6-24.7mm while the 25mm Ultra II were between 26 and 27.This apparently is similar to what happened to the 4000-5000 upgrade, Continental is making the new tires more true to size/slightly narrow. They may had to address complaints about previous sizes being too large.Just want to mention in case you are replacing a set of Ultra II.

These tires have tremendous grip on the dry and wet. More so than continentals higher end tires . That being said they also have a slight weight penalty and dont roll as fast .If you’re the type of rider that likes new grippy tires often say every 6 months but these. If your the type of rider who is more weight conscious get the 5000’s( not as much grip, but less rolling resistance)If you want a tire that is just bullet proof , get conitnentals gator skin/hard shell tire (will last 4 times as long but sacrifice grip and rolling resistance.

Bought the 700 x 28c folding bead in black in a box set which seemed a value deal.Easy install on older Mavic non box section rim but most difficult mount to Mavic box section rim. I broke a tire lever and eventually had my LBS mount tire, and they too broke a tire lever.. The ride and feel remind me of early 1970s IRC skinwalls in the same size. Not race tires but don’t feel sluggish, take road imperfections well and look right. I don’t weigh tires nor always go by stated weight but these feel light enough in the hand for my non racing riding style.I compare these to Continental’s gator tires my much older Trek in the same 28c size.. The Ultra Sports look abit smaller overall even with their black color noted. They fit nicely between my old Shimano 105 side pulls. No report on durability as I’ve only been out less than 20 miles so far.Overall I feel good about the purchase even with the one rim mounting issue. I’d rated 4.5 stars if possible as the rim mounting is

First of all, I’ve been buying and installing Continental road tires (and occasionally Michelins) for decades, and I pride myself in being able to do many installations without any tools. Second, I have NEVER had such a difficult time getting tires onto rims (even using tools). If I didn’t need them so soon, I would have returned these tires. If you are unlucky and you get some unreasonably tight ones, too, you could try what I did: 1) force the tire onto the rim and back off again (using tire levers) a couple times without the tube, just to stretch the tire a little before the trickier installation with the tube in place. 2) dust the tube and the bead edges of the tire itself with baby powder to dull some of the grip. You could also leave the tires in the sun for a while before you try to install them. I’ve never tried this, but I assume it would ease installation.Continental, if you are listening, you may want to chat with quality assurance and put a more accurate “go/no-go gauge” on the line. The tires I got were certainly outside of acceptable tolerance.
