Before you read further, I’ve only had ONE ride on these- yet I felt compelled to write up ASAP because these are very unique tires. My ride was on a typical Friday, loopy, rutty single track that I’ve had multiple tires and bikes on so this might be a valuable review for you-If you want a fast tire, don’t buy these. If you want a super grippy tire that inspires confidence to do more than what you might normally do, get these tires! Nutshell summary. Want more, read on-I can’t believe how much tread and traction and grip these tires provided me with. The former Kenda Tomac’s and the Continental Cross Kings that I’ve had on this bike before don’t even compare to the grip of the Kaiser. How so?The deeply rutted single track that loops more than bowl of Cheerios was ridden today with no loss of traction what so ever. I didn’t even need to ride up the banks as much on the hairpin turns- the traction on the side of the tires digs in so deep I remained closer to the ce

These tires are amazing! I upgraded from my stock maxxis Ikon 27.5×2.2 to these 27.5×2.4. Was worried they wouldn’t fit but they look great! Install wasn’t too bad except you’ll definitely need some tire levers to help get it on the rim. I can already notice the difference in traction when riding around my neighborhood. Can’t wait to test them out on my local mtb trails!

I wanted a higher volume tire for my adventure/gravel bike. I wanted something that had lower rolling resistance and all the reviews I found pointed to the Race King. The price was good so I tried them. I was not disappointed. The tubeless install was a little tougher than normal but eventually got them to “pop” with some soapy water. After riding them a few hundred miles, I really like the ride. On singletrack they have plenty of traction but on gravel they don’t feel like they drag you down. I run them about 30-34 psi and they provided a nice amount of cushion on my single speed. They also seem very tough and resilient. Some tires I have tried are soft and comfy but don’t have any puncture or tear resistance whatsoever. These are the Black Chili Protection version and I am very satisfied.I wish they made a tanwall 🙂 But those probably wouldn’t be a tough

Bought the cross kings (27.5, 2.3) and put them on front and back of a Scott Scale 720. These are probably the right tires for this style of hardtail bike as it’s really a cross country / trail bike. I wanted these for their improved rolling resistance advantages over a pure trail tire. I just rode the new tires on a really diverse mix of conditions: wet mud, wet roots, wet rocks, wed/dry wood walkways, dry dirt, pavement, dry roots, dry rocks, dusty dirt. I noticed more than once the tires absolutely saved me from wiping out. They had more than adequate bite in all conditions. I was riding them with tubes at 30 psi. May go to slightly less psi in future, but not much less. I fell like the price is super-right on these; a bit cheaper then the lower priced Maxxis and way, way cheaper than the higher end tires from any other brands. Recommend unless you really, really need super tires.

I bought these tires specifically for riding gravel/ trail routes. Yesterday I rode on a not-so-well maintained rails to trail. The tires went through thick gravel, large rocks, and pot holes. I am very glad I purchased these tires. Worth every penny!!

I bought two tires. One installed straight and true. The second does not turn true. The rim spins straight and true. It seems to be in the tire. They were a beast to get on the rim. Narrow trek rim.

I had four Maxxis DHR II’s and DHF fail on me in less than a year. They wouldn’t warranty any of them, including one that two bike shops both agreed was a defect from the factory. They are a horrible company and I vowed never to buy their junk again! Now I have these front/rear on my Pivot Mach 5.5 and I just swapped out the Maxxis junk on my wife’s Mach 6 to these as well! Couldn’t be happier. It’s a good feeling to bomb rocky, rooty technical New England lines with confidence!

Just installed it. The real test we’ll starting tomorrow. My hope is that this tire not bring deception and frustrations

This is a great enduro tire for the money, and a huge upgrade over the VEE Tire I took off the front of my bike. I went from issues with the front washing out to issues with the remaining VEE tire on the rear washing out. I can’t compare it to a Minion, but I don’t feel the need to. I don’t ride the pro circuit and never will.
