The info in the actual listing and in the pics is very limited, but given that they had free returns, I rolled the dice… …and came out trumps. They are actually genuine and the new model of the Continental Grand Prix 5000 s TR tyres. The ones that are tubeless ready and work with hookless rims.

One of the fastest tires available today. It takes a bit of effort and patience to install as it can get fairly tight. A tire lever is needed even for putting on the first side of the bead (25mm tire on a 21mm internal width carbon wheel ). Used the trick of squeezing tire bead to the wheel center channel and it helped a bit. A single parker tool lever and sore thumbs helped finish the installation.Very easy to set the beads with a regular floor pump and no need to remove valve core. Seem to hold the air/pressure fairly well even before I added any sealant.

Supply chain nightmares forced me to try a few other brands/road racing slicks. Every single one of them was a disappointment. I ended up preordering these and waited over 3 months and it still put a smile to my face on the first ride on them. Not sure if they lost some of the toughness over the last 5000 TR generation but did have one glass gouge that sealant couldnt handle and required a tube to get home. Never had that happen despite numerous cuts on the previous generation tire. In any case the performance and characteristics are so much better over any other tire out there it’s worth the price.

Upgradng from Swalbe One tubeless to GP5000 tubeless, (I also went from 25mm to 30 mm). On *my* rims (your mileage may vary) the Conti’s were easier to install and inflated to pop the bead on much easier. Easier installation. Great! Then… the rolling resistance difference. I began to beat many my Strava PR’s by just a little. Noticeable lower rolling restiance! Great! And the ride feel with 30mm tires at 65 PSI over 25 MM at 75-80 PSI is very noticeable. Much “cushier” ride.. Smoother, more comfortable ride (becasue of the larger tires, may not be specific to this brand/model.) Great!Better in every way!I did manage to get mine while on sale for under $80 each.. well worth it. Shame it was a late summer upgrade. Looking forward to next summer on these tires.

I ordered 2 of these tires. Since these are tubeless ready tires, there is significant effort involved in installing them. I cleaned out the tire wells and re-taped the rims with Stans tubeless tape. Seeded the tire beads using an air compressor and filled the tire with Stans sealant liquid. The rear tire held air fine and all was good. The front tire was flat within hours (ohh boy). I looked everywhere for the air leak but could not find it. I decided to remove the sealant liquid, re-tape the rim and try again. The tire was flat again within hours. I looked online and found a great troubleshooting video from Park Tools. They suggested spraying soapy water all around the tire. Upon close inspection, I found a few small black “dots” along the tan sidewall. One was blowing out tiny air bubbles. I tried to seal it by rotating the tire so that the sealant could do its job. it didn’t work. In fact, there was no holes on the inside of the tire. This suggests to me (I’m no expert) that the tire as a whole was defective and that this is just the exit point of the air. I am returning the tire and ordered a new one. Hopefully, the new tire is fine.

I mounted the GP5000 S TR in size 700×30 on my Zipp 303 Firecrest. Fairly easy to mount, not like the old clincher Contis. Easy to inflate but I did it with a foot pump with a pressure tank. One two three.I have high hopes and we ll see how they hold up when mileage starts going up.

I upgraded the tube/tire set that came with my bike. The rims are “tubeless ready”, so I had to remove the plastic rim strip and install proper rim tape, but that was very straightforward, at least it was after watching a few videos on everybody’s favorite video sharing site. I’m able to ride with lower tire pressures than I used with tubes, and the ride is remarkably better. There is a reason these are very popular tires – drop them in your cart and give them a roll!

Previously, I’ve been riding the tubed version of these tyres. Now that I have a new set of Zipp carbon rims, and the requires tubeless only, these were a natural choice. My favorite for all around use.

Fastest tires I ever use ,, light too if you trying to beat your time this is it but if you ride for distance continental four season would be my choice

Mounting these tires is so easy! And they perform great. But, I punctured three of these last summer. Same roads I always ride and the conditions look the same. Not sure if durability is an issue or what but it got expensive. 6’ 165 lb rider.
