Continental Grand Prix 4-Season Folding Clincher Tires, Set of 2 Tires

After three 18 mi trips over street and paved paths I’ve had it with these tires. Trip one I noticed the tires were slightly slower than my 4000/5000 conti’s, but I expected it. Trip two I had two flats over a paved path that was not very trashy. Trip 3 I had a flat when I rode over a smooth sidewalk. In the past I used either Conti 4000, 5000 or Gatorskins on this same route, but wanted reduce vibration. Big mistake on theses losers.

I really like these tires on my road bike. A friend who rides bikes alot recommended putting them on my bike after warmed by the sun or low heat and doing so made the install so much easier than if I had tried right out of the box. Continental also had a really thorough install video with the link in the manual in the box. Definatly will consider purchasing again.

I ordered these to use for winter riding in Maryland. My rear tire is almost worn in about two months. That’s riding 20 miles two to three times a week. I’ve ridden on wet roads but really have not seen a difference. I also hit a rock with my front tire and the rock shot out like a rocket (I’m running 95 pounds of air) and I was fine. I put my bicycle in my car and half way home the freaking inner tube ruptured. Scared the bejesus out of me. When I got home and took the rim off there was a slice in the side wall and that’s were it blew. I’m guessing the heat of the car increased the tire pressure and the slice pinched the inner tube it was about 34 degrees outside. I put a patch inside the tire and have been fine for about three rides. The back tire is just worn. I have to go back to hard shells. They’re my favorite.

Great tires for riding in every condition. It’s the second pair I have and the first ones lasted for more than 6,000 miles.
