I have a morning route through Paradise Valley, that these days is pretty dark at 5:30 AM. This light lasts the entire 90 minutes, without ever showing the half-charge warning light. And it is a flamethrower! The flashing mode will get everyones attention. This replaced a Cateye that lasted 8 years, but I guess it got dropped too many times. You can buy extra mounts to use- I can just snap it into any of my five bikes. Matter of fact, every cyclocomputer I have is Cateye as well, Cannot beat their quality.

Wow!Wow! Wow!! Great light, can’t go wrong with output of light! Little weighty; would not recommend mounting on the helmet. It’s like mounting a half gallon glass bottle of Shatto chocolate milk on your helmet. Take advantage of the light settings. Very accurate and true to specs. The light does get warm to hotish if one has the light on it’s highest setting for 1 hour or so. The mounting is unique, but very secure, if you follow the directions and screw this little plastic round wheel on the aparatus. The wheel can be lost easily. Customer Service was not called, though this product is highly recommended by a few known bike shops in the area. YouTube videos were spot on with this product.

I purchased this light for my bike in Sept 2020. Over time the plastic bolt that holds the mounting structure for the light began to loosen. I tightened it several times but recently it came off and I lost it on a ride. Since the light was under warranty, I emailed Cateye and asked for a new plastic bolt, including my Amazon invoice in the email to verify the warranty. They emailed me back and said it was not covered but I could purchase one for $1.95. A company who values the goodwill of its customer would have simply put that bolt in a letter size envelope and mailed it to me. Obviously, the bolt has been a problem in the past since they allow you to purchase it separately. I was planning to purchase another of these lights but now I will look for another company who places some value in customer relations. If this light goes bad, I wouldn’t count on Cateye honoring its warranty!

I have had this Cateye bike light for a few months now and I mostly use it during the day riding but last night I used it for the first time riding at night and the brightness on the lowest setting was more than adequate for my small town trail riding needs. The light is a well made product and even though it’s pricey for what you are Getting l’m very happy with this purchase. Battery life is really good and brightness is a really strong point here. I don’t always need such a bright light but it’s nice to have the option. I would however like to have more options for the daytime flash. Pros: battery life, brightness, quality construction, daytime sensor. Con: price. Things that could a little better: more in package options for mounting to bike, flash mode could have more options.

I already had another CATEYE light (the Volt 600) that I use mounted on my helmet that I’ve been very happy with. I decided to go with the AMPP1100 as a second light for my handlebars. I haven’t used it for a ride yet, but the light is tremendously bright. Based on the initial unpackaging and prior experience with this company, I expect to be very happy with it.My one complaint is the charging cable, shown in the picture. It’s pretty stupid how short it is. My wife happened to have a jar of perfect height underneath the outlet, otherwise there would be no way that cord could reach any outlet anywhere unless it were in the floor. I’ve never seen such a short cable that was supposedly intended for charging. It’s so silly that was enough to prompt me to write this review. CATEYE, seriously, your light is great but this is really really silly. Send a real cord. Even just 12 inches would be better.Overall it gets 4 stars because the real product here is the light and

I have used Cateye lights for years but those are much smaller and weaker than the AAMP 1100. They are good for daytime flashing for safety and in a pinch they are okay in the evening. So I purchased two of these much brighter and heftier AAMP 1100 lights. I have had no end of problems. First, they are pretty heavy, so the mount is not really stable unless you really tighten it down, and even then it gets loose. Moreover, both lights are difficult to remove from the mount. They don’t slide off easily because the release button does not work well. Second, they are burning hot at the bottom after a while. They melted the handle tape. Finally, one of them failed after no more than 3-5 hrs of use. It doesn’t hold charge. It will light up for maybe 1/2 hr and then it is out. This has caused me problems twice when I was out in the dark and the light just stopped working unexpectedly. I had to rely on my older small light that I was also using for flashing. The small on

I wish that I didn’t have to recharge it so often.

The brightness is impressive800 lm is sufficient most of the time. But the 1100 lm really gets attention.and 800 lm in warm weather after 15 to 20 minutes of continuous use the body of it gets extremely hot to the touch!

This is actually my second AMP1100 – I was in a crash and I snapped the first one off of my handlebars after flipping over them. Even then I was impressed with how the light broke (still functional) and the construction of the attachment which was visible after I snapped it.This light is very bright – on the brightest setting it does a great job of illuminating the woods at dusk. For the roads I prefer the dimmest setting. I also like the blinking feature – it’s really helpful for being more visible while biking in the rain. I find the battery life to be excellent and I like the feature that the power button shows me the battery status. Finally, I have tried a few lights and I really like how this one is mounted. The screw design is much less likely to break and I have lost other poorly constructed lights to bumps in the road because it wasn’t as sturdy as a cateye. It’s worth the extra money to get this!
