I have spent a year using cheaper parts. When you get gas, the engine wouldn’t want to start. It would take several tries (5 – 7 or more). It would crank, but not fire….as if the engine was flooded. I finally found out that the valve was sticking open and it would only take a very light tap to get it to close… like setting it on a table after removing it. I would apply a 9 volt battery and the unit would work as expected every time. Next time I would get gas, it was stuck open again.I bought this new valve and it has been working great. The engine starts right up after getting gas.Maybe the cheaper valves have weaker springs to close the valve. Maybe if I hit a pot hole before getting gas, that would be enough shock to close the valve. As tempting as the lower prices are, if you want to be sure you fix this problem of not starting after getting gas, get an original oem part.

This part, sold by a national BMW dealer, was $30 cheaper than my local dealer over the counter. When told BMW of San Francisco, on the other side of the country, was that much cheaper than he, he was not interested and looked like he wanted to go back to sleep at his desk. However they do it, I hope they keep doing it. Its certain disaster putting non-BMW cheap parts on your BMW. Guaranteed to fail.

For my 2004 BMW 325I which is an e46 with the M54 motor. I was getting the P0444 code and P0442 code. First I replaced the gas cap ring then bought a cheaper version of the purge vale because it had solid reviews. My mistake. It went a way for a while then I got a strange gas cap light on the dash. So I replaced the entire gas cap and came back again with the P0444 and P0442. Finally I bought the OEM purge valve and changed it and it appears that the problem has been fixed. No issues with it throwing off codes for the time being. Its better to just buy the OEM part here, you can have major issues and frustrations if it doesn’t work correctly. Not doing so cost me 2-3x as much in parts, time and frustration.

2001 BMW 5 Series 525i E39 , cured my cars check engine light and passed state inspection. This purge valve fixed a lot of running issues, hard starts, rough idle, stalling. I would highly recommend starting here it could save a lot of time and money.I tuned up my engine thinking it was a tune up that would fix the issues. New intake air filter, intake boot , intake air temperature sensor, coils spark plugs injectors etc.. Have not seen a check engine light since April 2021.It took me literally 5 minutes to replace it. I did not have to remove anything, do not overthink the install and do not pull on the hose it connects to, take your time its a plug and play install. The purge valve came in a sealed BMW OEM box.

Circuit had the valve wide open. Bought the part and replaced it and code went away immediately. Would definitely recommend!

I had code P0444 on my 2002 BMW E46 330i. I ordered valve saving some money compared to dealer. The part arrived the next day. I installed the purge valve and my code P0444 has cleared. I believe in using Genuine BMW or OEM parts for my repairs. They save money in the long run.

I liked the fact that this was an OEM BMW Part.I didn’t want to take the chance with anything other than OEM BMW after reading the related reviews. The part has worked great so far!
