This is a must when replacing the starter on BMW. However the price for 2 bolts is just highway robbery. Also, BMW engineers must have thought that if you can afford to own a BMW, you must be making money while you sleep and will have tons of time. That’s why they decided to put the longest bolt at the back of starter with only 2 inches or so room between the firewall to access it. Thanks !

Perfect fit. BMW parts. Of course these Aluminum one-use bolts are both stupid and unnecessary. Go to a hardware store, by common metric bolts made of steel. put a little anti-seize on them and save your money. You can get two correct size steel bolts at any hardware store for about two bucks. Or, be an obsessive BMW nut and keep buying these throw-away bolts…which are completely unjustified and absolutely silly…but, in fairness to this vendor, these bolts are nice correct BMW parts.

Used 11mm 12 point socket to remove. Bought a 11 mm UNIVERSAL WRENCH at Menards to torque back down. As I don’t have torx tools. You will also want a swivel head 3/8″ ratchet. This was for a 2009 BMW 528i. I have never worked on a BMW before but it went fine.

The bolts were perfect fit for my BMW N54 engine starter install. Do NOT reuse old bolts when replacing the starter. Install only new bolts! Torque each bolt to 10ft lbs then turn short bolt 90 degrees rotation and long bolt 180 degrees rotation for final torque. Be sure to watch some installation videos before you do it. Doing it yourself will save you $$$ over what a dealer will charge you.

These aluminum bolts must be replaced once removed, so these replacement bolts arrived promptly and are a direct replacement fit. I would recommend to a friend or buy again.

When they say one time use. They weren’t kidding. Bolt went nice and easy but the last 1/8 of a inch it got tight. So I started backing it out & when it was just about out it snapped with very little pressure.

just make sure you have a e-torx set, not just e14. factory starter bolts e14, these are e12. not an issue, and torque to yield bolts. Very nice.
