The only problem I can see with this thing is that the mark for the rotating cylinder looks really delicate; I’m pretty sure it will wear off after a couple of weeks in the tool belt. Otherwise a good, stylish tool- durable body, and the magnetic strip can hang the level from pipes and metal studs without grabbing screws and nails out of a tool belt pouch like the stronger, rare-earth mags do.

I pay for the best so if I need to spend a extra $10 so I don’t look like a idiot on the job with a stabile level falling then I’m going to do that. Come on stabila! Needs better magnets.

I bought my first 4′ Stabilla—the cheapest model—when I could barely afford it as an apprentice carpenter. I’m 67 now, and that level could never be mistaken for new. I’ve used it for rough carpentry, concrete work, tile work, and am still using it for high-end finish carpentry. Don’t know how many times I’ve dropped it because I can’t count that high. Still a pleasure to use: it is like an old reliable friend.Just bought this model, so we are still in the enthralled, romantic stage.

This is disappointing for the price paid for this little thing. I paid for quality but didn’t get it.

High quality, high precision. The perfect size to dry stack cinder blocks for retaining walls. The degree finder is accurate as well. Fits into my carpenter bag for checking plumbing drops as well. Expensive yes but I try not to by cheap Chinese products.

This brand has a reputation of excellence. You can buy a torpedo level much cheaper than this that will do the same thing. But will you trust it 1 year from now after it’s been dropped and put through the washing machine 3 times? Spend the $ and start buying tools that reflect your level of excellence. And check those pockets before doing a wash….

Center vial leaked. Used the rotating one for a while, but eventually found a service provider and drove the level across town to it. A month and a half later, the store called and advised that the warranty had been denied. I had been warned that Stabila’s previously great warranty was now crap, and here was the proof. I went home, wrote the company to advise of my dissatisfaction.Surprise. The CEO of the USA division wrote me directly, putting me in touch with the area representative, who assured me that their warranty in fact reflects the higher purchase price and their reputation for quality. Could I send a picture of the level, so that he could send a replacement? Sure, I’d be glad to do that. Sent the picture.Could I send a picture of the other side of the level? Sure, I’d be glad to do that. Sent the picture.Ok, send the broken level to our Chicago office or take it back to the service provider. What? I’ve driven this thing across town already. I composed an
