The Delonghi Water Filter reduces limescale, improving the quality of your coffee and machine performance on the following machines: EC800 series, ECAM series and BCO 400 series (ESAM series soon to follow). One filter should give approx. 2 months usage but comes complete with integrated calendar to show renewal date, so you can keep track of this easily and full instructions are included on how to change.
Note: Not suitable for models that begin ESAM

The filter works fine and fits like it is supposed to. I havent had to descale the coffee maker for over 2 years now because I am using this filter (I think).

The add showed 3 filters for 18.xx. I received one. After reviewing the order after I received it did show one. This however was changed since I reviewed many offerings and chose this one since 6.xx /filter was a reasonable charge. 18.xx for a 2 mo filter is an overcharge.

Saves me from having to wait on filtered water from the fridge as I can just use tap water, seems to remove the chemical taste from the coffee we used to get without it but that could just be a placebo effect.

Not much can go wrong there. It cleans the water and preserves your machine. Is a good thing to have

I had to replace this filter after a relatively short period of using the machine – and it’s not an inexpensive item. Someone suggested to me instead that I use filtered water (buy it at the grocery store in refillable jugs). As a a result, this filter has already lasted twice as long.

it works just as advertised. install was a breeze and coffee tastes good. amazon rocks! I like my delonghi fully automatic.

Interesting filter. Doing some research, filter is good for about 50 litres of water. Not sure how the machine knows the filter should be replaced. Does it work measuring the volume of water the passes thru the filter over time and then says reset? or is based on time? As it is described as a water softening filter, would be especially good for those that have hard water. The cost is not cheap, but neither is the machine that it fits in..Bottom line, I run the filter much longer than than when the machine prompts for a new filter, as having no problems with hard water. Can’t tell the difference between an old filter and a new filter., but feel that bottled water is costly environmentally and moneywise. Also not sure if using the filter, the machine would actually need less decalcifying cycles or the heating block might last longer.In any event, great cup of coffee from the machine, overall worth it to me to get the maximum performance out of the coffee maker.
