Foam interface pad for sanding delicate surfaces such as profiles and contours with the RO 125 or ETS 125 5-inch sander. The secret to a great finish lies in the use of the right pad and abrasive for the application at hand. Festool sanding pads are designed as carefully as every other component for optimum performance and a long life. All of our pads are designed with dust extraction as a primary consideration, so you’ll work cleaner, produce a better finish and significantly extend the life of your abrasives and pads. Festool pads feature the StickFix hook and loop design for quick and efficient abrasive changes, and enable re-use of partially used abrasives. A highly-resilient, heat-resistant MPE foam is utilized in all our pads for consistent finishing results, uniform wearing, and extended pad life. Because sanding pads will eventually fatigue and require replacement, it is advisable to keep a fresh pad at hand to avoid a break in work. Includes 1 sanding pad. Made in Germany.

This works great for sanding sealer and between top coats. There is a learning curve to this item, so be careful when going over the edge. It will tend to round the edge and remove all of the sealer. I have stopped just short of the edge and use a 3M sanding pad around the edges. It will save you time and really help with the problems you have with your hardwood plywood.

Works as described. It’s exactly what’s needed for the sanding curved surfaces on crown molding, raised panel doors, etc..But… It’s only a piece of foam – $21.00 = Festool’s usual outrageous pricing.Ergo – Minus 2 stars.

With a hard pad, the Rotex sander is very difficult for me to use in fine sanding mode. It jumps all over the place. This soft pad eliminates the instability and makes the Rotex much easier to use in fine sanding mode. This pad also allows you to sand irregular surfaces more easily.The drawback of a soft pad is your sander will have a tendency to round over edges, so I wouldn’t use this pad in projects where I want to maintain crisp sharp corners and edges.

What a piece of crap.Saw other reviews saying it falls apart, but went ahead and purchased anyway given that Festool is generally a reliable brand. Was extra careful removing sanding discs as some folks said the backing comes off. Within about 10 minutes of using it the black rubber padding starting coming apart and bits of it were flying all over the place. Then the whole pad flew off; the velcro would no longer hold it to the sander.Save your time and money and steer away from this one.

Festool makes great products. I use this on my Festool 5″ sanders to round corners, sand uneven surfaces, and to sand wood plantation shutter blades. Be extra careful pulling it off and on the pad or the sandpaper, otherwise you will separate the felt from the foam. If you get to close to a sturdy edge with the pad you will shred the sides, be extra careful.

It works really well, gets smoother edges. Just be gentle when removing. Don’t pull the foam or it will tear. Pull from the outside by grabbing the velcro not the foam. This thing STICKS to the velcro so pull apart little by little in a round direction. One downside is the holes don’t line up with my corded makita orbit sander. Other than that gets the job done.
