The first bulb shipped to me had the authentication QR code covered with a sticker on the box so I could not authenticate the bulb to Philips. I tried to remove the sticker but it tore the QR code when doing so. Amazon sent me a replacement where the box with the bulb was first wrapped in bubble wrap and then the sticker applied. The bulb authenticated with Philips.Installing was not too difficult. Every car will be different. Watch a YouTube video before proceeding. A part on the old bulb needs to be removed and reinstalled onto the new bulb. The most difficult part was getting the rubber cover back on after installing the bulb. It appeared that it needed to go around a circular piece of plastic, but that was wrong. The rubber cover needed to be inside of it. Once I figured that out, the rubber cover went on easily.As for the brightness, it is normal OEM brightness. I replaced the bulb because the old OEM bulb was old and getting dimmer. I have to say it was a little challenging for me to find the exact replacement bulb because of the vehicle I have (2017 Chevy Impala Premier) it can take LED/Halogen/HID type bulb & my manual only lists 1 number, but thanks to YouTube I found out how to take the bulb out to get the numbers off of it, I typed the numbers into the search bar & the exact item popped up. I ordered it that night with free overnight shipping, it was delivered the next morning in a secured package, I put it in & it is perfect. I am so glad I found this & for this price & know how to change it myself because the dealership told me it would cost me $470+tax. I hope this review can be of some help to anyone else having this issue. My suggestion is to do some research before automatically taking someone’s word on the cost of service

It works. Needed it for my 2004 BMW X5 4.4i. Only knocked off a star because it was loose in the box it was shipped in. Glad it didn’t get damaged, but it definitely could have.

I managed to install this replacement headlight bulb. These bulbs are supposed to last for several years. The only difficulty was installing but that’s more the vehicle itself. Primarily the “clips” that snap into place holding the bulb into the headlamp frame. Worth the value and effort…
