TPI – Threads Per Inch

TPI (threads per inch) refers to the thread count in a tire’s casing. A lower TPI indicates that thicker threads are woven into the casing, therefore making it more durable; a higher TPI indicates that thinner threads are used, therefore making the casing lighter and more pliable. WTB’s 60 TPI, TCS tires offer a supple casing with shock absorption qualities while remaining resistant to cuts and tears.

700c x50mm is huge. Make sure your bike has wide enough forks to support these. I ride a 2018 Kona Rove and these fit with ease. With the larger tires, your 700c’s overall width become roughly 29″. With larger tire diameter it will feel like your floating compared to smaller such as a 700c x35mm.These WTB tires have a all-terrain tread and a very wide tread pattern, I ran them at 50PSI while climbing a 9% graded dirt path. Over the 1.5km, I only had slips twice. These grip very great even at near-full pressure. On roads, it feels a little shaky above 45kph at 50psi. But 20-30kph is very dreamy. This may just be me, so take this as a grain of salt.I would buy again if I needed more in a heartbeat!

Overall solid tire! Here’s some of my pros/cons after 1,872 miles (according to Strava). I previously used Gravelking SK’s. These are better, more supple, more grip, more classic looking. I run these at 36f/41r (I’m 6”1’ ~175) and have had no issues on Iowa gravel.Pros:-Easy setup-700×40’s measure just a hair over 40mm.-Very supple-Zero flats (so far)-Good cornering grip-Not annoying on pavementCons:-Don’t shed mud well-Slippery at times on very dry gravelI’d definitely recommend these. I will probably try the Resolute 42 next. A little wider, lighter and more grip, so why not?

Bought this fires for my bike long time ago. Liked it very much. 3 weeks ago I’ve got a nail which went through the front side and side wall as well. Couldn’t do anything because the side hole was about 1cm in diameter. Anyway I’ve had enough on it and it was time to change it. I Bought a new one on March 5th and March 13th I got a side wall cut. Brand new Tyre… ? can’t do anything because that cut is pretty big and long. Nevertheless, I ordered the same one because I ding see anything even close to venture from different brands out there. Officials from wtb couldn’t help me of course. That’s said.I understand they don’t have to, but I’m not ready to spend 60$ every week. Will see how long another one will last.

I did a long on these with tubes and they were great. They offer really good grip on all types of road surfaces (pavement to packed gravel). After that I mounted them tubeless. The first one I did worked perfectly. The other sprang holes in the sidewall when I pumped it up to 60psi pressure. I will take it out on a ride to see if I can get better coverage with the sealant, otherwise I guess I’ll have to add a tube.

***UPDATE*** Unfortunately, these tires developed sidewall leaks that sealant would constantly seep through. I had to return them. Too bad, I really liked the tires. I have another pair in 700×40 that never developed the sidewall leaks. See the last picture.I wanted a higher volume tire for my single speed. After looking around and reading reviews out the wahzoo, I landed on the WTB Venture in 700×50. After about 500 miles, I LOVE THEM. They are as supple as you can ever imagine at 30 psi (preference).I had a little sealant seep through the sidewalls at first but that dried up and sealed fine. They came rolled up as always so I laid them out in the sun for a few days and that helped them seat perfectly. The tread is perfect for hardpacked and also larger loose gravel. The only thing I don’t know about is mud. But I don’t ride in mud if I can help it :). They will throw up little tiny pieces of gravel from the tread, like the Panaracer gravel king does, but who ca

The media could not be loaded. Good for gravel, especially when it’s steep and chunky… Capable of handling some hero single track on a “road” bike. Not too bad on the road (especially if you crank up dat PSI) when you have ride to the gravel/trail/fun stuff. I normally rock one of these bad boys on my front wheel and a WTB Bypass on the back. Peace ??, Love ?, and “Gravel” ?. Amen.

This tire rolls SLOW. It feels heavier than it is . It also flats very easy on the side and on the thread as well. Put in a lot more sealant than recommended , you’ll go through it .The grip is awesome though, super confidence inspiring on packed or lose dirt

I haven’t put a lot of miles on these tires over a large variety of surfaces yet, but so far so good on the ride.HOWEVER, it took a LOT of sealant to get them to hold air. I did all of the tricks, but they kept bubbling. I finally figured out that the sealant seeps into the tires. All in all, it’s taken 6 ounces total in each tire to completely seal. 2oz at first, then another 2oz. It was disappearing, but not leaking onto the ground. I have one of those thin needle style tire syringes that you can use to pull out the sealant. After 4oz it was damn near dry. But after yet another 2oz it finally held.I was using the last of my Stans in the rear and was trying Muc Off in the front. Not much of a difference in getting them to seal, but Muc Off is supposed to seal larger holes. We’ll see.It seems like there is a lot of complaints about getting them to seal and I wanted to let folks know what it took for me.

First got these tires 2 years ago for my 650 wheels, lots of gravel rides and no flats! I run 28/26 psi and they handle loose terrain great along with singletrack. Just got a new set of wheels for my current gravel bike and found these skinwall tires. Highly recommend!
