i already had two of fujifilm’s instax cameras: the mini 8 and mini 90. while each instax has their perks, i think the wide is my favorite (i might be a little biased since i just got it and it feels so shiny and new). there are two forms for the lens: 0.9mm – 3m or 3m to infinity. this is great because closeup pictures will be in focus and scenery pictures will also be in focus. the package also came with an attachable lens for closeups so you can easily make sure the subject of the picture is centered (and you can also take selfies with it ahah).i was surprised by how large the camera itself is. to put it frankly, IT’S HUGE. it’s actually the size of my face, and it’s bulky. not axactly the type of camera you’d like to keep in your purse in case a picturesque moment comes up. BUT, the pictures come out much clearer than the minis and are more enjoyable. the size of the pictures makes it seem like a ~real~ polaroid camera as opposed to the minis that feel very

I recently bought this gift for my Fiance for Christmas and after having used it myself I have fallen in love with this Instafilm camera.First off, I think it is important to know and list what your expectations are before purchasing this product. This camera is not intended to replace a digital camera as the quality of the prints is lacking compared to what you would shoot with a quality DSLR or an Iphone camera. However, that is exactly why we purchased this specific camera. It is the uniqueness of each individual print and the imperfections that create a moment in time. If you are looking for unique photos that are a tangible memory of an event then this is the camera for you. Moving on.This camera is super simple and easy to use. I would say the hardest thing is getting a hang of the brightness setting and judging by your environment when to make it a little darker or when to make it lighter. We have found that if shooting outside it is best to set the darkn

I love this camera – I am a photographer and have used many a camera – lately been using polaroid spektra and 600 cameras with Impossible project polaroid film for my art work and also been giving them to kids to take shots with on road trips… they love it. I am I admit attached to the iconic polaroid format, but I decided to try this camera because of the large frame size and the beautiful design. I LOVE IT sofar and need to get the case….only wish they made black and white film for it – hello !? Why not….PROSThis camera is sharper than the older polaroid cameras (except spektra and land cameras). Very sharp – love itNice selfie close up attachment, sharp, with mirror so you can see what’s in the frameLove the design – looks like a real older camera, but is light and smart looking (not like a pink cartoon kid camera like the others).BEST PRO: The colors and development time, as well as the properties of the film is very similar to OLD polaroid film and o

I bought this to take on a mission trip to Honduras. We wanted to take pictures of kids and families as many have no pictures at all. Like the old Polaroids this will develop on their own in a couple of minutes. The film comes in a little pack of 10 prints, and is essentially ISO 800. Loading the film is very easy and only takes a few seconds. There is a built in flash, which does work, but for best pictures make sure you have good lighting – lots of lights on indoors, or be outdoors. Very bright outdoors can wash the picture out as well. Its a basic point and shoot camera. When you press the picture button, the print ejects out of the top of the camera. There is a manual zoom on the front, but I really didn’t use it much. It came with a macro lens attachment, to take closeups, but I did not try to use it.I would not buy this camera for major keepsake photos, so I am not going to rate it comparing to a dslr or even decent phone camera. Its best used to provide an

The build quality of this camera is terrible. It looks like a toy. It looks like junk. It does, however, take acceptable pictures. One must, though, follow some common-sense photographic rules.(1) Don’t try to take a picture of a black cat in a coal mine at Midnight. What I mean by this is turn the lights on in the room in which you’re taking pictures. Light is good, good. Darkness is bad, bad.(2) Have your background right behind the subject, no farther away from your subject’s back than one or two feet. If there’s all empty far-away space behind your subject, you’ll get washed-out, blown-out pictures.(3) Don’t take flash pictures in a cavernous setting. You need walls, close walls, in the room to contain the flash.(4) The camera turns on in the three to ten feet range. You’ll get your best exposed images at between four and six feet. Closer will wash out; farther will darken up.(5) Unless you’re a contortionist with the circus, you will not be able to take vertical pictures with this camera. I suggest you ONLY take horizontal images.(6) You CAN rescue dark images with a good scanner and a cheap photo editing program. I use Picasa. Washed-out pictures are almost impossible to save.(7) Framing your pictures can be difficult because Fujifilm has placed the viewfinder far, far, far, far away from the camera’s lens. Here’s the trick to properly compose your shots: Leave some space on the top and on your left side as the lens, which is lower and to your right, will “eat up” that empty viewfinder space.(8) I know about which I’m writing. This is my 45th instant camera since 1967. I’m kind of an expert on instant photography. I also used to develop and print both B/W and color print film. I also used to develop and mount color slide film.(9) I have yet to take an outdoor picture with this camera, but I do have some recommendations. The smart flash won’t fire outdoors as the camera won’t let it. I suggest you turn on the flash manually and use it as a fill-flash to (A) fill-in the shadows on your bright sunlit images, (B) add lighting to shots taken in bright shade, and (C) add lighting to back-lit subjects. You MAY have to use the lighten setting, also, on those back-lit subjects.(10) If any readers have any questions about this camera, please make a comment. I will ATTEMPT to reply to your comments.(11) Lastly, please remember one thing. This is not a Nikon. This is not a Canon. This is not a Sony. It’s an instant camera. Its purpose is making photography FUN. Taking instant pictures, especially if one gives away the prints, makes people smile. Yes, the pictures aren’t SLR camera sharp. Yes, one can see the film grain. However, this type of product is fun to use and makes people happy. Also, these images tend to scan well and make decent low-resolution digital images.I hope I’ve been helpful.

I had some trouble with the lighting of the developed pictures but still loved it nonetheless. After less than a month of infrequent use, my camera stopped working. At first, it wasn’t turning on. After attempting to turn it on and off for several minutes, I finally got it on and tried to take a picture. In the little window that shows the number of pictures left in the film pack, there was no number listed and just a “—“ instead. When I tried to take a photo, it would come out just black.I immediately contacted Amazon and the product support team. The Amazon rep wasn’t able to help me, so he connected me in a 3-way call with a technical support rep from Fujifilm. The Fujifilm rep had me perform a few troubleshooting tests – which ruined two packs of film. He assured me that I would be mailed complimentary replacement packs. He instructed me to download and print the Repair Form from the Fujifilm website and mail my camera without batteries to the listed

I have been sick so haven’t used this camera besides a few photos here and there. Tonight was very important for my son and I… after 4 packages of film (inserted correctly) I have 3 pictures that came out ok. It’s big and bulky but nostalgic yet I looked like a fool taking and replacing film while I was trying to take a pic of my 6 yr old with his favorite piano player! The film is expensive as well as the camera so not worth what we got! All white pics

Brings you back to the good old days! No phones, just capturing sweet moments on the spot. The quality is fantastic. I’m still figuring out how to take pictures so they appear as best as they can. I’m by no means a photographer or know anything about how take the “right” picture. There have been lots of trial and error lol. Lighting is EVERYTHING and up close is your best shot to a great picture. But all in all I’m in absolute love with the camera and love how different each picture comes out. Simple, vintage, and fun.

Got it as a replacement gift for a friend. I haven’t had any complaints from it; they said it was better than the one they had.
