I deeply enjoy unique, complex, and exotic scents. I, particularly, enjoy woody, smokey, earthly florals. Think of Lush’s Goddess, Etat Libre D’Orange’s Jasmine Et Cigarette, Sixteen92’s Vlad Dracul or Mina Harker.This scent is not that… This scent is not unique, not exotic… This scent is so generic smelling it inspires the worst kind of nostalgia I’ve ever experienced. This smells like the girls’ bathroom during middleschool homecoming… This scent smells almost exactly like Babysoft, yes $15 drugstore Babysoft… To be fair unlike Babysoft It has the deep woody undertones and sharp sweet/spicey notes it claims, but thoes notes are overwhelmed by the powdery vanilla in it. Once it dries you lose the jasmine entirely… It’s just very heavily smells of spicey powdery vanilla. It remindes me of baby powder or sunblock… Honestly, it reminded me of a number of generic, lack-luster, please-the-masses scents. Worst of all I can smell the alcohol base through the vanilla!The product appears to be authentic. The bottle and packaging are lovely. It arrived quickly and undamaged. And I can understand why many would enjoy this fragrance. But I’m going to be frank, this is not the exotic, unique, woody floral it was advertised to be… This scent is just so uremarkable and I’m mad about it. A designer scent marketed as “Alien” should not remind me of drugstore perfume! It should not rely heavily on vanilla to make it palatable. And I should NOT be able to smell the alcohol base!Now, I personally don’t care for vanilla in most scents. Based on the description of the scent I was not expecting the vanilla component to be so overpowering, but this (like most modern designer perfumes) relies on it heavily to ‘mellow out’ the sharp woody component but it’s just cloying and destracting…If you enjoy powdery, spicey, woody, vanilla, this perfume is for you. If you wanted the well balanced woody, resinous, heady jasmine floral this scent was advertised to be you will be sorley dissapointed…

Ladies if you’re never use a good smelling perfume this is the one! My aunt gave this to me almost sixteen years ago and it has been in my collection every since. It doesn’t take but one spray , whenever you walk in a room you will definitely get someone attention! So please give it a try it’s worth the money!!! Alien by Thierry Mugler !! Yes yes and yes!!!
